At TwitchCon 2018, Twitch and Riot Games announced a new partnership to give League of Legends players access to exclusive loot. Players who link their Riot Games account with Twitch from today until Dec. 12 will get a brand new, in-game item: the Crown Capsule. Opening this pod in the Hextech Crafting menu will earn you a random legendary-tier skin shard. These skins, like Gentleman Cho'Gath or Corporate Mundo, cost 1,820 RP and have upgraded VFX and particle effects.
To transform the skin shard into a skin you can use in your collection, you'll need to use essence to upgrade it to a skin permanent. If you'd rather not use the shard because you don't like the skin, you can roll it with two others to get a random skin, or disenchant it for a couple of thousand essence.
Ethan Evans, Vice President of Twitch Prime said there will be more League of Legends related content released on Twitch Prime "in the months ahead" in a press release. Overwatch and Hearthstone, two of Blizzard's largest franchises, have been giving away packs and Loot Boxes with Twitch Prime for almost a year. With League 's much more robust and complicated crafting system, Riot could potentially come up with unique ways to grant players goodies. Icons, emotes, ward skins and more can all be obtained for in-game use in League, and they'd all make for awesome exclusive loot.
How to Link your Riot Games Account To Twitch
Head over to the League/ Twitch Prime landing page and log into your Twitch account. From there, you can head to Riot's website to log into your Summoner's account. If you haven't used Riot's website before, make sure to select the correct region when you are logging in. Once that's done, you should be brought to a giant button. Press that and the capsule should be sitting there in your account.
