No More Bouts for UFC Fighter Mike Perry After Hitting Senior at Bar Brawl

UFC fighter Mike Perry went viral after a Tuesday night altercation at a Lubbock, Texas bar, where he cursed at patrons including an old man, who he hit and brought to the ground.

In the video, which was released on Wednesday night, Perry appears to be getting thrown out of a bar, telling people to call the police. He also screams about the man he hits touching him. "Did you touch me? Oh, you didn't touch me," he yells, as a woman tries to explain that he was trying to calm him down.

The man in the video seems to be trying to get Perry to leave the bar, saying that Perry hit the man that he's screaming about touching him. "I'll knock your old a** out too. Let's go you fat piece of s**t," he says.

After being separated from the man after hitting him, Perry continues screaming at other people, including telling them to call the police and yelling the n-word. Towards the end of the clip, a woman yells at Perry for hitting the man. "He shouldn't have touched me. F**k you all. You ain't on my side, b***h," he screams before the video cuts out.

According to ESPN, the video occurred after Perry tried to fight a man, following a verbal spat. The restaurant's general manager stepped in after he tried to fight multiple people in the restaurant. The manager said that Perry punched him in the face. The man Perry hit was taken to Convent Medical Center. Perry told police that the altercation came after the other patron made a comment about his girlfriend. He said he grabbed the man's wrist after trying to grab his girlfriend's friend's wrist. He said he pushed both the man and the manager's faces.

The evening the video was released, Perry tweeted a short and simple, "No comment," seemingly referencing the incident.

According to USA Today's MMA Junkie, Perry apologized for the incident and said that he may suffer from problems related to alcohol abuse and would be seeking treatment. The UFC said that it wouldn't offer the fighter a bout until he completed treatment and further evaluations occurred. "UFC is aware and troubled by the video that was released last night concerning Mike Perry. The conduct displayed by Perry is not reflective of that of our organization. Perry apologized for his behavior and acknowledged he was disappointed with himself that his actions may have reflected poorly on UFC," the UFC statement said. "At this time, UFC has informed Perry that he will not be offered a bout, and the parties have agreed to evaluate next steps for Perry following the completion of his treatment program."

Perry's manager and the UFC did not respond to Newsweek's emailed requests for comment in time for publication. Newsweek left a message with a press contact for the Lubbock police department, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
