Man Stunned as Quirky Restaurant Lighting Reveals Skincare Secret

A man's skincare secrets were unexpectedly revealed at a dinner with friends in St. Moritz after the restaurant's lighting left him glowing.

Celestine Tan, a blogger from Zurich in Switzerland, was enjoying a fine dining experience in St. Moritz with friends that quickly became overshadowed by the restaurant's UV lighting.

Tan, who clearly takes pride in his skincare, didn't skip the all important SPF application before going out for the night, only to be lit up under the restaurant's UV light as his face began to glow "like a ghost".

Tan, who saw the funny side of the situation, began filming what was happening, with the camera panning around to show the dishes on the table and his two friends before revealing how he looked.

His ghostly appearance got a lot of attention on TikTok, gaining over 84,000 likes and 669,000 views since being shared on March 2.

His choice of sunscreen left a glaring white cast over his face, likely due to an ingredient causing the ultraviolet rays to bounce off, creating the luminescent effect.

Sunscreens, which can be made of chemical or mineral formulations, protect the skin from harmful UV rays, although many only block UVB rays, leaving the skin open to the effects of UVA.

The UV lighting in the restaurant gave Tan the perfect opportunity to check his application technique, as it highlighted exactly where he put the essential product.

What Do the Comments Say?

It turns out Tan isn't the first to fall victim to UV lighting, as one user shared, "This happened to me when I went dancing after LASIK. The eye drops made me look like I had glow in the dark eye liner."

"I went glow mini golfing on a first date and my face looked like this because of my tinted sunscreen," added another.

It sparked a new fear for a third, who said, "I'm just thinking of all the times I've been in blacklight spaces and looked like a weirdo and didn't know! I wear sunscreen every day!"

Skincare fans showed appreciation for his dedication, as one user said, "Okay but look at that even coverage! Pro-status skincare king. That's why you'll still be hot at 60."

"Appreciation for how evenly you applied though," added another.

A third said, "King of protecting your skin!"

Others highlighted how the video shows the sunscreen is doing its job, as one user said, "This is a great ad for this sunscreen tbh."
