Gruesome Video Shows Masked Shooter Execute Man Getting Into Uber Outside Shangrila Karaoke Bar

Police have released a video showing the moment a masked shooter killed a man outside a karaoke bar in New York City.

The New York Police Department said 109th Precinct detectives are attempting to track down the individual wanted for a homicide carried out at around 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, outside the Shangrila karaoke bar at 131-01 on Fowler Avenue.

The culprit appeared to be wearing blue gloves as he carried out the attack near the Van Wyck Expressway. The footage shows a man with a face covering walking on Fowler Avenue in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens. As a car pulls up and the would-be passenger approaches, the gunman runs towards the vehicle and appears to shoot the man.

A police spokeswoman told The New York Post: "[The victim] was standing outside waiting on an Uber and an unknown person approached him behind and shot him multiple times."

Police told NBC New York the gunman hit his victim in the head and body. The shooter fled the scene in a white Honda sedan which appeared to have temporary number plates, the Post reported.

The victim was taken to NewYork–Presbyterian/Queens hospital where he was pronounced dead, the New York Daily News reported, citing police. The victim was 31-years-old, they said.

The Shangrila karaoke bar is listed as permanently closed on Google, according to Pix.com. Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting, and there are currently no suspects.

Footage from the police search seen by NBC New York shows officers hunting for clues in a silver SUV with a smashed rear window.

Several initial local reports on Tuesday morning incorrectly suggested the man was the victim of a drive-by shooting.

NYPD Crime Stoppers has called on anyone with information to contact 1-800-577-TIPS, or send the team a direct message on Twitter. Tips can also be sent on the Crime Stoppers website. Alternatively, text 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. Calls are anonymous, according to the force. Spanish-speaks can contact 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
