Video Shows Moment Dispute Breaks Out in Gunfire on New York Street

A new video captured the moment a verbal dispute erupted in daytime gunfire on a street in New York City.

The video, posted to Twitter by the New York Police Department (NYPD) News account on August 25, begins with a man running down a street in the city's Bronx borough while being chased by two other individuals.

As the video continues, one individual chasing the man can be seen brandishing a firearm and aiming at the victim as he attempts to run away. The victim then falls behind a car while the suspected shooter moves closer and fires the weapon at the victim again.

The two individuals then flee the scene while the victim remains lying on the sidewalk behind the car parked on the street.

The video shows a closer look at both of the suspects as they run toward the camera and away from the victim.

A spokesperson for the NYPD told Newsweek that the shooting occurred on Saturday, August 21, at around 6:17 a.m. local time and that the victim was a 32-year-old male.

The victim was at an "after-hours party" near 1301 Westchester Avenue in the Bronx, which is located in the NYPD's 42 Precinct, and got into a verbal dispute with one of the suspects that was only identified as "Individual #1," police said.

The verbal dispute between the victim and the suspect then turned into a "physical altercation," which prompted another unidentified individual, which police have called "individual #2," to display a firearm and chase the victim down the street.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds "to the torso and buttocks," according to police, and was transported to the Saint Barnabas Hospital in "stable condition" to be treated for his gunshot wounds.

Police described individual #1 as a male with a dark complexion, "medium build," and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a "torn white tank top, black jeans and black and white sneakers."

Individual #2 was described as a male with a dark complexion, "heavy build" and facial hair. He was last seen "wearing a white tank top, a dark-colored bag across his chest, blue jeans, white sneakers, holding a yellow shirt in his left hand, a black & silver handgun in his right hand," according to the NYPD.

While police continue to search for the two unidentified suspects, they asked the public for help and said that anyone with information on the incident should contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline or by visiting their website.
