A woman who repeatedly kicked passengers, hit them with her umbrella and yelled racial slurs on a New York subway train was detained by a good samaritan and arrested earlier this week.

In a series of videos posted on Twitter, Anna Lushchinskaya, a 40-year-old woman from Brooklyn, can be seen kicking, swatting and yelling racial slurs at a young female passenger—visibly of Asian descent—on an overcrowded train. According to Yahoo News, the incident was recorded on Tuesday.

"F--- off!" Lushchinskaya repeatedly screamed at her. "Don't f--- with me, you piece of s---."

Then she tried me so I had to detain her until the cops showed up 🤦🏾‍♂️ pic.twitter.com/C3UybusAxa

Throughout the video, the attacker used her umbrella as a weapon, spat at passengers and screamed a racial slur against Chinese people.

Several passengers attempted to stop Lushchinskaya during the incident. One unidentified man stood between her and the victim and held her back during the assault. "Your white privilege isn't working over here," he can be heard saying. "You already know she voted for Trump."

Another passenger who filmed the incident—identified as Juan Ayala under the Twitter handle @PlatanoMan—later appeared to have executed a citizen's arrest on Lushchinskaya, before authorities arrived to arrest her. "We gotta get her arrested," he said. "We gotta detain her until the cops come. She spit on me, she assaulted me. She's assaulting everybody."

Ayala also shared an image of himself detaining Lushchinskaya at the station and another of police arresting her.

On Wednesday, a day after the incident, the NYPD confirmed Lushchinskaya's arrest in a tweet and announced she was "charged with felony assault." Authorities told Yahoo News that the 24-year-old victim suffered facial lacerations and bleeding from the attack.
