'The Voice' Top 8—Eliminated Singer Says Show Was 'Emotionally Draining'

The Voice has revealed the top eight contestants of Season 22, following two surprising eliminations.

The NBC show, hosted by Carson Daly, kicked off its third week of live shows on Monday (November 28) and saw the top 10, which was determined last week, battle it out on stage to win a spot in the semi-finals.

Then on Tuesday (November 29), the bottom three contestants were revealed from the public vote and only one kept their spot in the top eight, meaning two were sent home.

Coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and former Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello were able to give their critiques, but it was up to the audience to decide who was safe and who would be leaving.

Who Went Home on 'The Voice'?

After the results of the public vote were announced, Team Gwen's Kique, Team Blake's Rowan Grace and Team Legend's Kim Cruse were revealed as the three acts with the least amount of votes.

The trio then had one last chance to perform on stage with the hopes of being the one contestant to be saved and secure a spot in next week's semi-final.

Kique's performance on Monday evening was a pre-taped studio performance due to the fact that he is currently in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

His bottom three performance was also a pre-recorded one and this time he covered Leon Bridges' "River."

For her last-chance performance Grace sang Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," while Cruse opted for Brooks and Dunn's "Believe."

After the "Instant Save" votes were counted it was revealed that the public had chosen to save Cruse.

Kique's remote connection cut out during the final minutes of the episode, so he never got the chance to say a proper goodbye but his coach, Stefani, was full of praise for him, saying: "I've been on this show for six seasons, and [Kique is] probably the first artist I've ever worked with that I truly was blown away by his own artistry. I learned to trust him right off the bat. Whatever he wants to do, he's going to come with a vision, and it's just super-exciting to work with someone who is a pure artist like that."

Later, Kique reflected on his time on the show on Instagram, telling his followers he found the experience "mentally, emotionally and physically draining," but added that it's "just been the best."
