An exclusive clip of Dietland Season 1, Episode 6 features a heated conversation between Detective Dominic O'Shea and Daisy Chain editor Kitty Montgomery.
At halfway through Season 1 of AMC's new show Dietland, the episodes continue to surprise, leaving viewers with more questions than answers at the end of each segment. Episode 5 ended with Plum's escape from the latest and most disturbing of several failed dates she's been compelled to participate in as part of Verena's "New Baptist Plan." After an altercation in the street, Plum is knocked out. When she comes to, she sees the face of the man on which she's been hanging her last romantic hopes -- Detective Dominic O'Shea. But even those dreams are dashed as a misplaced word by one of Dominic's former colleagues reveals that he isn't the man she thought he was. Dominic comes clean, letting Plum know he's married with a wife and kids -- that his pretense was in an effort to open her up and get her to reveal what's happening at Austin Media.
As Plum spirals into a breakdown -- or an epiphany -- she finds herself knocking on Verena's door. As Verena helps her into the house, Plum lets her benefactress know she's ready. For what, though, only time will tell.
Plum wasn't the only character who finds her world unraveling in episode 5. After a bold move to publish the Jennifer Manifesto across Austin Media Group publications, instead of accolades for taking a risk that doubled Daisy Chain's subscriptions, Kitty is relegated to a management position. She's lost all editorial power within the media group. Taking her frustrations out on Plum in the form of a pink slip notice, the former Editrix is in the throes of a personal crisis that leaves viewers wondering what her next move will be.
Up until this point we haven't been given much information on the nature of Dominic and Kitty's relationship, but an exclusive clip (above) from the upcoming episode 6 suggests we're about to learn more. In the clip, Dominic appears to have revealed Austin Media group's traitor to Kitty and wants to share the information further. When Kitty rebuffs, Dominic says now that the traitor has been flushed out, his business with her is done. Kitty makes an attempt at seduction, but Dominic quickly lets her know he's married. Spurned, Kitty huffs off but it's pretty clear this won't be the last interaction between the two.
