Former NBA forward Matt Barnes gave his twin sons a birthday present they surely won't forget.

The former Laker susprised his 11-year-old sons, Carter and Isaiah, with a private practice alongside former teammate Kobe Bryant in Orange County, Calif., as shared on his Instagram story Wednesday.

In the video, Barnes asks his sons if they know what their last present is.

"I feel like we're going to play basketball, we've got our basketball shoes on," his son, Carter, said.

The next story update shows the two boys being greeted by the Laker legend as they walk into the basketball gym.

Barnes and Bryant were teammates on the Lakers for two seasons from 2010-12. The two also were believed to have somewhat of a rivalry during their NBA careers, which stemmed from the infamous clip of Barnes attempting to shake a seemingly unmiffed Bryant during an in-bound pass.

However, an alternate angle of the video showed that Bryant wasn't face-to-face with Barnes during the incident, rather slightly to his right.

Everything we know about the Kobe flinch GIF is a lie 😱

Barnes discussed the incident on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on Thursday and said he still believes the 5-time NBA champion deserves praise for not flinching, while downplaying any past animosity between the two..

"Yeah, I put the ball in his face and he didn't flinch," Barnes said. "To me like, who has, how are you just looking through film and happen to see this different view almost 10 years later. But people think that we weren't friends or we were enemies. He recruited me to the team a couple months after this play happened and then just yesterday he worked my kids out for their birthday. It was a surprise. I took them out to Orange County and he put them through the whole 'Mamba session' yesterday and they absolutely loved it so me and Kobe are cool.

"This was never really a big deal, like I said, this was really how I ended up coming to the Lakers to be honest with you. But to this day on posts, 'Kobe didn't flinch,' I'm like, 'that was 10 years, like what are you talking about right now?' Like, okay, you would flinch...people talk crazy on [the internet]."

Barnes was awarded sole physical and legal custody of his and ex-wife Gloria Govan's sons, last Thursday, weeks after Govan was arrested for alleged child endangerment, according to TMZ.

The former NBA forward also obtained an 18-month restraining order protecting him against Govan, although she's not barred from seeing her sons under the order.

Govan was ordered to complete 26 sessions of anger management and 10 parenting classes after Thursday's ruling.

Barnes shared a photo of himself on Instagram with his legal team after the judge's decision on Thursday featuring the caption, ""The DREAM TEAM!" He added, "Can't thank you guys enough #GodIsGood."
