When Is The American Idol Finale?

The finale of American Idol 2022 will begin at 8 p.m. on ABC.

The show will be a three-hour event, concluding at 11 p.m.

To watch the American Idol, you can do so via the ABC network. Alternatively, you can stream the show live via ABC. com and the ABC app.

The finale will also be available to watch via Hulu on Monday, May 23. You can sign up to Hulu to watch the American Idol finale and previous episodes from Season 20 for $6.99 per month now.

What Theme is The American Idol Finale?

American Idol finalists Noah Thompson, HunterGirl, and Leah Marlene will perform an original song they recorded last week during the live finale.

They will also be tasked with singing a Bruce Springsteen classic, a fitting theme choice for the final show.

The Top 3 will also have the opportunity to duet with a famous face.

Katy Perry and Leah Marlene will duet Perry's hit "Firework" and country star Luke Perry will perform with HuterGirl. They will sing Randy Travis's hit "I Told You So."

Noah Thompson will perform alongside American singer and songwriter, Melissa Etheridge.

Ahead of the finale, the Top 3 have been sharing their excitement about Sunday's finale.

Noah Thompson recently posted an image of him on Instagram performing on the Idol stage.

He captioned the image: "Came into this competition scared out of my mind, it's all so surreal. I have no words man. You guys mean the absolute world to me, thank you for everything!! Cannot believe this right now."

HunterGirl also posted a photo of her performing on the Idol stage, describing her journey as "surreal."

She wrote: "I still can't believe I'm in the Top 3. This journey has been so surreal. Thank you guys for believing in and supporting me always. I love and appreciate everyone so much. Y'all are the reason I get to chase after my dream. THANK YOU!"

Leah Marlene shared a snap of her Top 5 performance from last Sunday, candidly writing: "I feel like I am living inside a dream right now. Still in shock. Thank you."

Who Are The American Idol Celebrity Guest Stars?

American Idol legend Carrie Underwood will be performing on the American Idol stage during the finale. Underwood won the talent competition in Season 4 back in 2005.

Underwood is not the only American Idol alum to take to the stage on Sunday. Season 16 alum Gabby Barrett will also perform.

X-Factor U.K. winner James Arthur will perform and country legend Deana Carter will take to the stage.

Michael Bublé will also perform as well as Earth, Wind & Fire, Melissa Etheridge, and Flo Rida.

Audiences will also be treated to performances by Ben Platt, Thomas Rhett, and Tai Verdes. Some of the famous faces will be paired up with the American Idol Top 10 contestants during the finale.

Bublé has already promised Top 7 contestant Christian Guardino they will duet during the finale, so audiences have that to look forward to.

Platt will perform alongside Lady K and Deana Carter will sing with Mike Parker. Earth, Wind and Fire will perform a melody with Jay Copeland.

Fans will also get to see Thomas Rhett and Katy Perry perform their duet "Where We Started."

Judge Lionel Richie will perform during the American Idol finale, but fans will just have to wait and see what what he has in store.

The American Idol Finale 2022 airs Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
