Where Was When Christmas Was Young Filmed?

When Christmas Was Young is set in a fictionalized version of Nashville, but that's not where the show was filmed.

The CBS movie was filmed in Canada, in the city of Langley, Vancouver.

Scenes were also shot in and around the wider Vancouver, with several indoor scenes shot at Turtle Recording Studios.

Speaking to the Surrey Now-Leader, Turtle Recording Studios operator Larry Anschell revealed the name of his studio also appears in the movie.

He said: "They filmed in our place and at another house in the neighborhood, and at a theater in Vancouver, too. What's cool is they're using the name of our studio in the movie."

Since filming wrapped, the cast of When Christmas Was Young has shared some behind-the-scenes snaps.

In November, Hilton posted an image of him and costar Karen David filming in Vancouver, writing alongside the image: "When Christmas Was Young" coming your way Dec 18th!! Executive Produced by @sherylcrow (who also wrote original music!) for @cbstv, this is def the most Nashville and music business-centered Holiday movie yet! It's funny and beautiful, and there's SO much good music in it!! Lots of new talent... I can't believe I got to be a part of something this special."

Karen David reposted Hilton's Instagram to her Twitter account, writing: "Fun times filming in beautiful, Vancouver! #WhenChristmasWasYoung @CBS @paramountplus December 18th."

The movie follows music manager Luke Dawson's search for a Christmas hit, which he discovers via talented singer-songwriter Melody Douglass (Karen David), who has given up her dream of making it in the music industry. However, the pair lock heads when Melody is reluctant to give up the rights to a song she wrote many years before.

As they battle over rights, the pair form a close bond, with Luke hopeful to make Melody the star she deserves to be.

Speaking to Distractify.com, Hilton shared that filming in Canada reminded him of his days working on One Tree Hill.

He shared: "It's a real little town in Langley, B.C. It's outside of Vancouver, and it was such a cute little town. Afterwards, I was telling my wife, 'Should we go to Langley?' It's so quaint and a farm town, and the little place that was the hotel and the church and all that stuff is really there. So it was just totally charming.

"It reminded me of Wilmington, North Carolina, where we filmed One Tree Hill, where like the city is such a big part of the movie, you know?"

When Christmas Was Young is streaming on Paramount+ now.
