Why You Won't See Sofia Richie on 'Kardashians' Show With Boyfriend Scott Disick

Keeping Up with the Kardashians is slated to make its Season 16 bow on March 31, but don't expect to see Scott Disick's girlfriend Sofia Richie make an appearance.

Richie, 20, began dating Disick, 35, in 2017. The model, whose father is Lionel Richie and older sister is Nicole Richie, has declined to appear on the long-running E! reality show throughout the course of their relationship. However, she has a very understandable reason for doing so.

"Not that I'm against it, [but] I'm just very private," Richie explained to Us Weekly on Thursday.

Disick, a businessman, is currently developing a new reality television series for E!, which focuses on flipping houses. Richie, however, said she won't appear on this series either. "He's the expert. I might put in my two cents, but he's the expert," she told Us Weekly.

Disick has become a staple of the reality television world. He's appeared in several Kardashian and Jenner-centered shows, including Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons, I Am Cait and Rob & Chyna. Despite being well-versed in the reality arena, he isn't pushing Richie to follow his lead.

"Everyone has their own choices and nobody should have to do anything they don't want to do," Disick told Us Weekly on Thursday. "It's her choice."

While Richie is dating a well-known reality star and comes from a famous family, she's managed to maintain her privacy. She often dodges questions about her relationship as well.

In September 2018, an interviewer on Australia's The Morning Show asked Richie whether she was "happy answering all these questions" about her personal life. She calmly addressed the matter by explaining she's used to being asked such questions because of the world she grew up in.

"I can't deny the fact that that's my life. By the way, that's been my life forever, it's nothing new to me," she began, "I'm not upset that I have to answer these questions, but there are moments that I have where I'm like ... I want to be my own person and I want to stand as my own person. That's actually what drives me to work and do my own thing, and to want to make my own mark. I want to be my own person, even though I have all these amazing people in my life who I love so much."

Keeping Up with the Kardashians returns to E! for Season 16 on Sunday, March 31 at 9 p.m. ET.
