Wife Baffled at Husband's Birthday Gift, Until She Pieces It All Together

Everyone take note—one man is doing birthday gifts right.

A viral TikTok video posted by @idontjudgeijustjurie revealed the months-long birthday surprise put together by a husband for his wife: A fully realized outfit from the Barbie movie she had mentioned loving last year. The clip takes viewers through a series of reveals adding up to the outfit replica. Since it was posted four days ago, it has received 1 million views, over 172,000 likes and more than 720 comments.

Barbie was last summer's box-office darling, becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. Last month, it gained Oscar nominations in eight categories, including Best Picture, Best Costume and Best Production Design, as well as acting nominations for America Ferrera and Ryan Gosling. The movie won an Academy Award for Best Original Song: "What Was I Made For?" by pop star Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas O'Connell.

"My husband let me open one of my birthday presents a few days early this year," the creator captioned the video. "It was all in different packaging...I was confused at first but loved all the accessories."

She went on to say that, last July, right before the pair got married, her husband had taken her on a date to see the Barbie film.

"During the movie, I leaned over to him in awe of Margot Robbie [as the title character] and specifically fan-girled over this exact outfit," the woman wrote. "So, he discreetly wrote it in his notes app and found each of the pieces of the outfit to gift me for my birthday months later."

The end of the video reveals her completed outfit in a mirror: a blue dress with a white collar, knee-high white socks, and blue heels—all tied together with a white bow in her hair.

Viewers in the comments couldn't believe the efforts her husband took to surprise her, or his attentiveness to her tastes. In the caption, the creator wrote that her husband's thoughtfulness is "always healing her inner child."

"My brain simply cannot comprehend that a man could be capable of putting this much thought into a gift for his wife," @tropicorebel wrote. "Watching this was low-key healing."

"Thank you for reminding me it's worth waiting for this kind of love," @turniphead442 posted.

"I was like 'Oh my god, that outfit will make her look like a doll, it's so cute,' then, I saw it was a Barbie outfit and it made perfect sense," @ire.neni commented.

"I'm so sleep deprived," @thatoneweirdchick03 added on the creator's video. "I just sobbed out, 'You're your own Barbie now.'"
