Pokémon Movie 2018 Japan Release Marked by Wind Lugia Distribution

The latest issue of CoroCoro reveals a special Lugia distribution in Japan to coincide with the release of the new Pokémon movie, Everyone's Story.

According to CoroCoro - via Serebii - moviegoers who pre-ordered tickets to the upcoming Pokémon movie will be eligible to receive this special Lugia. Pokémon trainers will receive a serial code for their Sun, Moon, Ultra Moon or Ultra Sun games, and can download this Lugia from April 13 to July 12.

This version of Lugia comes at level 100 with the hidden ability Multiscale, which reduces the damage taken at full health. It comes with the attacks Aeroblast, Tailwind, Defog and Hurricane. Lugia can't normally learn Hurricane, so this will be a rare Pokémon for Japanese audiences.

CoroCoro refers to this Pokémon as "Wind" Lugia, probably g because of its Flying-type moves and since it appears during the Wind Festival in Fura City during the Everyone's Story film. Take a look at the scan of the latest CoroCoro showing Lugia using Hurricane.

The new Pokémon movie will continue the adventure of Ash and Pikachu as they head to the Wind Festival and meet new characters. Here's the official synopsis for Everyone's Story .

Once a year, a "wind festival" is held in Fura City, the city where people live together with the wind. While the ancient belief that the legendary Pokémon Lugia will appear and bring about the blessed wind on the final day of the festival still exists, the people that gather in the city participate in the festival while wrapped in their own thoughts...

Lisa, the highschooler and Pokémon rookie.

Kagachi, the braggart that just can't stop telling tall tales.

Trito, the timid researcher that lacks confidence.

Hisui, the old eccentric that hates Pokémon.

Largo, the mysterious little girl that hangs around in the forest all by herself.

These are the people that Ash and Pikachu meet. That meeting makes everyone's story start moving forward.

Normally when a new Pokémon movie is released in Japan, it arrives to the rest of the world by the end of that same year. Pokémon trainers looking to get their hands on this special Lugia will likely have to wait until the movie debuts outside Japan

Pokémon the Movie: Everyone's Story will release in Japan in July.
