Moment Woman Gets 'Awful Feeling' Over What She Finds in Thrift Store

A woman from California has gone viral on social media after sharing the "awful" feeling she gets every time she sees a specific phenomenon happen at the thrift store, and the internet couldn't relate more.

In a video shared on TikTok in March by @livekindly, the poster takes a deep breath as she shows an entire collection of cow-themed homeware being sold together.

A caption shared along with the post reads: "That awful feeling when you see this at the thrift store. Probably someone's whole collection, but at least it will live on by bringing others joy instead of getting thrown away!"

The poster told Newsweek that the feeling she's talking about in the clip is the realization that the collection was likely donated all at once because the owner passed away.

She said: "It brings some people hope that the items may be able to live on and it's also a reminder to consume mindfully because the items we buy will last long after we're gone."

With the growing environmental concerns and financial struggles, younger generations are embracing thrifting, which is a great way to save money and recycle.

According to Statista, the global apparel thrifting market was valued at $14 billion in 2021 and was projected to grow to about $51 billion by 2026.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok. It has received over 1.9 million views and 59,200 likes on the platform so far.

The poster is not the only one to have experienced that feeling. One TikTok user, Snake, commented: "At least someone will find them and love them."

TikToker Nordstromsrat said: "I started crying because I saw a handmade mug that said 'worlds best dad' at the thrift store."

Commenter @The_mukbang_author wrote: "I donated a tapestry once and many years later I saw it at a thrift store and bought it back."

Another poster named Wyatt added: "Omg when you see the best grandma and grandpa things in thrift stores oh it hurts me it's so sad."

Another user, Natural Selection, added: "I wonder if that's my nans, they donated all her things before I got a chance to take any of them. All I have is a small moo cow toy."
