Woman's Shock As She Uncovers Hidden Horror in New Home: 'How?'

A homeowner has been left stunned after uncovering a hidden horror in her new house.

Victoria Louise, who lives in England, got the keys to her newly purchased home and was shocked when she uncovered an issue she wasn't expecting.

In a video on TikTok with 550,000 views, Victoria shared the moment she stumbled on a cupboard housing a gaping hole through to the roof.

Her bewilderment at the room with the compromised cupboard was compounded by the fact she hadn't seen it on two viewings of the home. Mostly due to the space being partly occupied with clothes and the previous owner's belongings.

"I found the hole in the roof on the first day once I got the keys. I had previously viewed the house twice but a clothes railing was placed in front of the cupboard, and people still lived there—their clothes and belongings were still in the room, so I never looked in there," Victoria told Newsweek.

After finding the substantial issue, she explained she was concerned: "I already knew that the house required work, but this was a big problem which hadn't been discovered, so it was quite shocking."

Despite ordering a survey before completing the purchase on the house, the cupboard damage had not been mentioned. "I was surprised and shocked that it hadn't been picked up on the survey. I intend to contact the survey company about this problem and let them know that they missed this huge issue," she explained.

As well as contacting the surveyor, she is planning to speak to a contractor about fixing the problem.

"I have no idea how much this will cost to fix," Victoria said, reflecting on the reality of the hidden issue.

But on her TikTok page, Victoria had some unexpected support from viewers who were keen to highlight the positives of her newly purchased home.

"Potential is there! Will be lovely," said one commenter. While another wrote: "Do you know what, just be so proud of yourself for being a homeowner. Don't worry about these things too much or it will take the enjoyment away."

"HOW did surveyor miss that?! I'd be livid," said another commenter. "Beautiful house otherwise."

This is far from the first time a homeowner has been shocked by a unexpected discovery. Earlier this year, a man was baffled by what he found in a "spooky" basement in his home. While another woman found a whole secret room hidden behind her wardrobe.
