The World’s Best Airlines, Ranked Qatar Airwways

After recent reports of planes with bedbug-infested seats, alleged homophobic treatment of passengers and pilots lighting up mid-flight, travelers might want to think carefully about which airline they choose for their next trip.

Skytrax's World Airline Awards, the world's largest annual airline passenger satisfaction survey, received more than 20 million air traveler submissions covering 335 airlines. Customers were asked to nominate their overall favorite airline, and then give marks categories including cabin service, ground and airport experiences, cabin cleanliness and quality of meals.

In addition to an overall winner, there were awards for different categories: Garuda Indonesia was named the friendliest cabin crew for the fifth year in a row, while China Southern Airlines won "most improved airline in 2018." Qatar Airways was cited as providing the best business class experience, while Thai Airways scooped "world's best economy class."
