Yolanda Hadid's TikTok Mocking Controversial Diet Advice Hit With Warning

Yolanda Hadid's latest TikTok video, in which she appears to mock accusations that she pushed disordered eating on her daughter, Gigi Hadid, has been hit with a warning on the social media platform.

During her family's time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between 2013 and 2016, the matriarch drew criticism when she was shown speaking with her daughter, who was then a rising model, over the phone.

Sounding distressed, Gigi told her mother in one scene that she was "feeling really weak," explaining that she had only eaten "half an almond."

"Have a couple of almonds and chew them really well," Yolanda, who is also mother to models Bella Hadid and Anwar Hadid, responded.

The eyebrow-raising advice has gone down as one of her more memorable moments on the Bravo show, drawing waves of criticism over the years from those who saw her response as promoting unhealthy eating habits.

Yolanda appeared to break her silence on the matter on Thursday, when she shared a TikTok video of herself carrying out a series of tasks on her Pennsylvania farm as she cradled a large bowl of almonds.

With Spanish singer Rosalía's single "Bizcochito" serving as the soundtrack, Yolanda showed herself walking and driving around the grounds of her property all the while keeping a firm grip on the bowl.

She was seen tending to crops, feeding a horse and even allowing two goats to eat from the bowl, before sitting cross-legged by a tree with the bowl resting atop her head.

Throughout the 20-second clip, she was seen slowly chewing each almond that she consumed, in apparent reference to the advice she gave her supermodel daughter.

Adding context to her post, the Dutch-born former model captioned the video with the hashtags "#worstmomever" and "#almonds."

In the hours since the video was uploaded, a warning has been placed on the post, reading: "Participating in this activity could result in you or others getting hurt."

The video has divided some of Yolanda's followers on the platform with many praising the manner in which she addressed the controversy, while others were critical.

Newsweek has reached out to representatives of TikTok and Yolanda Hadid for comment.

Earlier in 2022, TikTok launched a huge crackdown on content on the platform, including content users are greeted with on their "For You" page.

On February 8, the company issued a statement from its head of trust and safety, Cormac Keenan, as it unveiled updates to community guidelines.

These included "strengthening our dangerous acts and challenges policy, broadening our approach to eating disorders, adding clarity on the types of hateful ideologies prohibited on our platform, and expanding our policy to protect the security, integrity, availability, and reliability of our platform."
