YouTuber Anthony Michael Wicklace Charged Over Alleged Sex, Taser Attack

A popular YouTuber has been arrested on suspicion of shooting a woman with a stun gun after she spurned his sexual advances.

Anthony Michael Wicklace, 20, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and criminal sexual conduct, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court seen by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Wicklace, whose Minnesota Guardian YouTube account (in which he is seen aggravating public officials) has nearly 14,000 subscribers and more than 2.2 million views, was arrested following an incident which allegedly occurred on Sunday, July 18.

According to the criminal complaint, a White Bear Lake police officer was flagged down by a woman who said she had just been assaulted by a man who offered her a lift home.

St. Paul police had removed the woman from an apartment building in the 100 block of Summit Avenue after she was allegedly banging on the doors of the building, reported Fox 9.

Wicklace was at the scene after hearing about the incident on a police scanner and approached the woman.

Wicklace, who was wearing tactical pants and a duty belt, allegedly told the woman he was trained in de-escalation skills and offered her a lift home.

According to the complaint, the 20-year-old began making sexual advances in the car and offered to give her money in exchange for oral sex.

The woman said Wicklave then exposed himself, grabbed her left breast and said something along the lines of "You know you want me."

After refusing his sexual advances, Wicklace allegedly pulled the car over into residential street in White Bear Lake and pushed her out.

Wicklace is then alleged to have pulled out a stun gun and fired it in her back. He then got out of the car and tried to use the Taser again on the woman a second time, but it did not discharge.

When police later found the woman, she reportedly still had the prong from the stun gun in the back of her shirt, along with two blood spots.

Wicklace was arrested at his home in St. Paul on Monday night.

His bail was set at $60,000 after he was charged.

Wicklace, who describes his Minnesota Guardian YouTube account as an "independent news source" frequently posts videos of him heckling police officers and harassing members of the public and officials.

In an interview with FOX 9 in February 2020, Wicklace defended his "First Amendment Audits."

"At the end of the day, I'm trying to inform the public about the rights they have as an American citizen," Wicklace said.

"The whole point is to use your rights. You never know what's going to happen. But you have to be prepared. Someone might not like you filming them, yet there are all these different cameras filming them. Why are they upset with me?"

St. Paul Police has been contacted for comment.
