Zoolander 2 and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice lead the nominations for the 2017 Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzies, the ceremony that recognizes the worst Hollywood releases of the last 12 months.

Ben Stiller's Zoolander sequel has nine nominations while Warner Bros.' superhero film starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill has eight.

Both were maligned by critics, but Batman v Superman managed to gross an impressive $873 million worldwide to become one of 2016's highest-grossing movies.

Zoolander 2 is up for worst picture, worst actor and worst director for Stiller, worst supporting actress for Kristen Wiig and worst supporting actor for both Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson.

Batman v Superman lead actors Affleck and Cavill are both nominated for worst actor. The pair are also up for worst screen combo.

Other films nominated include Robert De Niro comedy Dirty Grandpa and Independence Day: Resurgence.

The Razzies take place on February 25, on the eve of the 2017 Academy Awards.
