Donald Trump's Hair Blowing in the Wind Sparks Wave of Jokes

Donald Trump is being mercilessly ribbed on social media over his hair flapping in the wind on Thursday.

Just before he attended the third day of witness testimony in his hush money criminal trial in New York City, the former president's hair was seen on video moving with the wind as he briefly spoke to the media during a visit with construction workers.

Trump was discussing his claim of "absolute immunity" from criminal charges and praising former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, the first witness at the trial, as "a very nice guy" when his hair appeared to shift in the wind.

The former president has been ridiculed in the past over the appearance of his hair. Images of Thursday's moment inspired a new round of mockery after they were quickly shared to X (formerly Twitter).

"What is happening with Trump's hair here?" the liberal anti-Trump group MeidasTouch asked while sharing a silent video of Trump.

"His hairs are tired of him, they want to get the f*** away from his dumb head," @PawlowskiMario replied.

"Fake hair, fake tan, he's not real in any sense," wrote @rmwkenpo.

"Look at that bronzer line," @ChuckCjmmn posted alongside 12 "rolling on the floor laughing" emojis.

"Trump's hair is trying to escape before the conviction comes," wrote @iamgabesanchez.

"Someone get some glue..." posted @Mollyploofkins.

"No wonder why he hates wind," former federal prosecutor Ron Filipkowski posted. "His transplants can't get weaved enough to cover everything."

"Trump's hair flaps coded message to Bonesaw to have the escape plane ready tonight," wrote @Osborne__Cox.

"Trump's artificial hair mat almost blew off his dumb head today," @theliamnissan posted.

Newsweek reached out for comment to Trump's office via email on Thursday.

The ex-president's distinctive hairstyle has been the target of widespread mockery for nearly as long as Trump has been a public figure. A photo of him during an event in February led to online speculation that the former president is actually bald, although others suggested that the image had been manipulated.

The unusually fluffy appearance of Trump's hair while attending a UFC fight last November prompted Vanity Fair magazine to say it resembled a "dead, furry lobster," while the New York Post settled on bizarre.

Cosmetic surgeon Gary Linkov said last October that images of Trump taken over the years suggest he may have had five hair transplant surgeries. He called it "a great example of how hair restoration surgery has evolved over time."

Trump's purported use of makeup during public appearances, which is a common practice for public figures, including men, has also been a frequent subject of ridicule.

The former president was accused of suffering a "spray tan" or bronzer mishap after an image emerged online last month that appeared to show a noticeable difference in his complexion near the hairline.
