Videos Show Fani Willis Being Confronted by Donald Trump Ally in Florida

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was confronted by a far-right activist at an event in Florida on Friday over her "persecution" of Donald Trump.

Laura Loomer, a Trump loyalist and anti-Islam conspiracy theorist, posted a clip online showing her approaching Willis after she spoke at a National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) event in Miami, Florida.

"Why are you trying to persecute Donald Trump," Loomer asked Willis, whose office charged the former president and 18 other people over their alleged criminal attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

"Why are you weaponizing our justice system against President Trump, Fani?" Loomer adds.

A second video posted by Loomer shows her approaching Willis again outside the event.

The Context

Trump has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him filed as part of Willis' sprawling racketeering 2020 election interference investigation.

Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican nominee, has frequently accused Willis of carrying out a politically motivated "witch hunt" against him that aims to hinder his chances of winning November's rematch against Joe Biden.

Prior to Friday's event, Loomer urged others to protest Willis appearing in Miami to "let her know that she is not welcome in President Trump's home state of Florida."

What We Know

Loomer posted the confrontation on X, formerly Twitter, claiming that Willis got "Loomered."

Loomer also suggested scantily clad women who were working at the "cocktails and conversation" event were "strippers" and claimed the event was full of people smoking marijuana.

"Tonight, after Fani Willis finished speaking at the National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO) black networking event/party in Miami, FL, I confronted her while she was standing on stage," Loomer posted.

"I asked Fani why she's persecuting President Trump and weaponizing the justice system against him. She was silent (for once in her life) and ran away from me. Why are there strippers at the event Fani Willis is speaking at?

"It's appalling that the Biden supported DEI District Attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, who is trying to jail President Trump, spoke at an event tonight where strippers were walking around half naked and many people in attendance were smoking weed!"

Willis' office has been contacted for comment via email.

Loomer was previously among dozens of people who rallied in support of Trump outside a New York court on the first day of the former president's falsifying business records trial, where Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges.

Views

Conservative social media user Joseph Magnani in reply to Loomer said on Twitter: "Great job Laura. She can't answer any sensible questions. She has to run away."

In contrast, X user Jupiter's Jinx said: "I guess 'loomered' means 'completely ignored the psychotic individual who walked towards her.'"

What Next

A trial date has still to be confirmed for Trump and the remaining defendants in the Georgia election interference case who have not already taken a plea deal.
