Doja Cat Steps Out in Nothing But a Towel on Her Way to Met Gala

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Fans are reacting to Doja Cat making a striking entrance at the Met Gala, draped in a chic body towel and hair towel ensemble. Outside the Mark Hotel, she sported a white towel wrapped around herself, complemented by a hair towel adorned with shimmering silver jewelry and clear platformed heels.

Her makeup featured a dramatic metallic eye look with silver accents cascading down her face.

Viewers of the Met Gala looks are notorious for swiftly critiquing the ensembles showcased at the Met Gala, and Doja Cat's unconventional attire was no exception. "omg doja cat? no #MetGala," one user wrote via X (formerly known as Twitter). Someone else quipped, "Doja I know this is supposed to be funny but it's lame."

"Doja Cat shows up in a towel from Amazon," another user joked. One joked while saying, "the one MetGala outfit I already own!!!"

"Use me as a Doja dislike button," someone else wrote.

Although Doja posed outside the hotel in a towel, she entered the red carpet in a different outfit — but not less shocking. She posed for the red carpet in a wet see-through t-shirt dress, styled by Brett Alan Nelso.

At the 2023 Met Gala, Doja stole the spotlight with her ingenious homage to Karl Lagerfeld's cat. Embracing the event's theme with gusto, she graced the red carpet in a hooded gown designed by Oscar de La Renta. The gown featured cat ears adorning the hood, intricately embellished with shimmering silver sequins and culminated in a dramatic feathered train.
