Stormy Daniels Claps Back at Critics Amid Donald Trump Trial

Stormy Daniels is hitting out at haters on social media amid Donald Trump's criminal trial in New York.

The adult film star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford is back in the headlines after the former president's "hush money" trial began on Monday.

Trump was indicted last year for allegedly falsifying business documents. The real estate tycoon is accused of having his former lawyer Michael Cohen pay Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about an alleged affair ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office has argued that the payments to Cohen in 12 monthly installments labelled "legal fees," were part of an unlawful attempt to influence the outcome of the 2016 race. Trump has denied the affair with Daniels and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Daniels, who is no stranger to vitriol on social media, was bombarded with attacks online after her alleged affair with Trump was reported by The Wall Street Journal in 2018.

Following the start of Trump's trial on Monday, she clapped back at several trolls on X, formerly Twitter, with her replies going viral. Newsweek has reached out to Daniels for comment via email.

On Tuesday, Daniels savaged a critic who said, "A pornography worker is not an 'actress.'"

"Does she have a Screen Actor's Guild card? No," X user Thomas Rafferty wrote. "She is paid to have real sex with strange men. The only reason it's not prostitution is because it's filmed so other men can watch her do it and masturbate."

In response, Daniels reposted Rafferty's remarks, along with a photo of her Screen Actor's Guild membership card.

"Writers Guild member, too!" she added, with her comeback receiving over 200,000 views.

Later that day, Daniels replied to an X user who shared footage of her 2018 arrest.

The For the Love of Dilfs host was arrested while performing in a strip club in Columbus, Ohio. Daniels was taken into custody for reportedly "fondling patrons," which is against the law in the state.

She sued the City of Columbus and was awarded $450,000 in compensation after the sting operation was revealed to be a set-up, with the vice officers involved losing their jobs.

"Reminder that [Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg's star witness is a prostitute and junkie who in a sworn affidavit already denied having had an affair with President Trump," the poster wrote alongside the clip.

User @MelissaOrtiz78 tagged Daniels in the post, asking, "is this you?"

"Yep! That was the day I was falsely arrested in Ohio," Daniels replied. "I stood up to the dirty cops who did it. They were fired and I was awarded over $400k! Thank you for sharing!"

Her response received almost 200,000 views, but it wasn't Daniels' last post to go viral that day.

X user Cynthia Holt also reshared the footage, dubbing Daniels a "w****." In response, Daniels posted a 2019 CNN article reporting her court win.

"Look! Another person who has zero clue what they are talking about," she said, resharing Holt's post and receiving nearly 200,000 views.

"Thank you for reminding me of my huge victory in getting the dirty vice cops fired and my win."

On Tuesday, prosecutor Jack Smith accused Trump of using the Stormy Daniels case to delay his trial in Florida.

The business mogul was indicted in June for allegedly mishandling classified documents, reportedly keeping White House papers in various locations around his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
