Taylor Swift's love life has often made headlines over the years and in a surprising move, she has liked a series of memes about the men she's dated.
The pop superstar frequently shares the ups and downs of her romances in her music, but now she's found happiness with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She first went public with the NFL star in September and since then they've barely left the headlines, and fans are invested in their every move.
While Swift shares personal relationship insights in her hits, she rarely discusses matters of the heart publicly. In an unusual move for the singer-songwriter, she has liked a carousel post on Instagram that includes three memes about her love life.
Newsweek emailed Swift's publicist for comment Friday.
"Tag that Swiftie (we all know one)," the Instagram account Betches captioned their post.
While the first two posts discuss Swift and her music, the last three discuss her relationships.
The third photo reads: "Where are all the people that aren't Swifties and won't spend an entire week decoding Easter eggs but can still recite Taylor Swift's entire dating history from memory."
In the fourth post, Abby Lee Miller, the dance teacher from the TV show Dance Moms, is standing in front of a pyramid of white pieces of paper. On the program, she used the pyramid system to show who she felt performed the best that week.
This has become a meme online, with people replacing the names to fit the joke they're trying to tell. This time, someone has edited the names of a variety of Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriends and current partner Travis Kelce.
At the bottom are the names Calvin Harris, Joe Alwyn, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Matty Healy. In the second row are the names Taylor Lautner, Tom Hiddleston, and Harry Styles. At the top of the pyramid sits Kelce.
The fifth post references Swift's previous relationship with Alwyn, who rose to fame on the show Conversations With Friends. Many fans have theorized that her new albums, The Tortured Poets Department and The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, are about her relationship with the actor.
"Every time we get a new lyric the hunger games cannon goes off," one person joked alongside a picture of Alwyn.
This references the dystopian series The Hunger Games in which children are forced to fight to the death. When one dies, a cannon goes off and a projection of their face is shown in the sky.
People couldn't believe she liked the post, and many expressed their shock in comments.
"I CANT BELIEVE TAYLOR LIKED THIS... SHE IS COMING FOR JOE," user taylorswifte13 wrote.
"this Taylor is crazier than rep Taylor tbh WHY WOULD SHE LIKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS POST," demonicgreenlady responded.
"Taylor liking this is crazy," user itzr0bbie said.
Anisswiftie added: "She's being a millennial, probably didn't swipe the next pictures."
It is possible that Swift didn't see all of the photos in the carousel and only paid attention to the first, which is a picture of her face with the text: "Decoding Taylor Swift Easter eggs feels like working 2 jobs, training for a marathon, dating a man who is emotionally unstable, and clocking in the overnight shift at the FBI all at once."
The second says "thank god she became a musician and not a serial killer" in response to all of the Easter eggs Swift hides for her fans.
Taylor Swift's Previous Relationships
Swift dated Twilight actor Lautner at the height of his fame in 2009 and they were together for several months before splitting in December of that year.
In 2010 she dated Gyllenhaal for three months. Despite their short-lived romance, it went on to inspire much of Swift's album Red and the song "All Too Well."
One of her more high-profile relationships was with One Direction alum Styles. They dated for three months from late 2012 until early 2013.
Swift and Scottish DJ Harris were first seen in public in 2015 but broke up a year later in what her friends described as a "brutal" split.
No one could forget Swift frolicking in the sea with her friends and Hiddleston, who was wearing the now iconic "I ❤️ T.S." white singlet. They first met at the Met Gala in 2016, but Swift split with the Loki actor just a few months later.
Swift dated Alywn for six years before they split in April 2023. In between Alwyn and Kelce, Swift had a brief fling with The 1975 frontman Healy.
