Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Meme Goes Viral After 'Tortured Poets' Release

Music fans have poked fun at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after people theorized one of her new songs was about him.

Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poet's Department (TTPD), was released on Friday, with her fans— known as Swifties— working hard to solve potential Easter eggs on the surprise double release.

They quickly came to the theory that the song called "The Alchemy" was a nod to her NFL beau.

Kelce is the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and recently won his third Super Bowl with the team, as Swift raced back from her Eras tour in Japan to attend the championship game.

"The Alchemy" features lyrics about touchdowns, winning streaks and trophies, and one meme joked that Swift must have rushed straight into the recording studio soon after the Super Bowl to record the album, but some disagreed.

She has had a busy 12 months, from performing in her record-breaking Eras world tour, to starting her whirlwind relationship with Kelce in July, being named Time's Person of the Year in December, winning Album of the Year at the Grammys in February and then going to the Super Bowl a week later. All this while recording 31 new songs for TTPD.

An X user with the handle @newyorknoshoes posted the meme showing a GIF of Paris Hilton running in high heels to quickly get into a luxury car.

"taylor leaving the chiefs super bowl after party heading straight to electric lady [recording studio] to record the alchemy," she captioned the post.

Other Swifties loved the joke and added their thoughts, with some not seeing the humor and arguing it could not have been about the Super Bowl because it takes a long time to press vinyl records.

"I think could be accurate! The celebration description is just too real and no one thought they'd win back in the fall. No idea how long it takes to press vinyl, but if anyone could speed it up, it's Taylor," replied @KLKemp78.

"nope it was definitely already recorded back in september/october to be on the vinyls. so the mustache made the album!" added @allisonlouisa13.

And @higginszoo commented: "Well, she had to be giggling at how much of this song actually happened *after* she wrote it, though. Shirts off? Beer sticking to the floor (just a week before release)? Tayvoodoo was definitely at work here. Travis isn't the only one who can manifest things, apparently."

Swift could have already written "The Alchemy" about Kelce before the Super Bowl as they met in July when he had already won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs and was a record-breaking player.

Vinyl records can take about six months to press, with the long turnaround due to a shortage of materials and a renewed interest in buying records, according to the Grammys website.

"We are quoting five to six months right now," Gar Ragland, founder and CEO of Citizen Vinyl, told the Grammys.
