'Lame' Travis Kelce Video Goes Viral Following Mahomes' Charity Event

Travis Kelce was jokingly accused a being "lame" when he appeared worse for wear after chugging a beer at Patrick Mahomes' charity event this weekend.

The football star attended the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Vegas Golf Classic on Saturday with girlfriend Taylor Swift, followed by a celeb-studded gala in the evening. The event was hosted by fellow Kansas City Chiefs star Mahomes, who founded the charity in 2019 to improve the lives of children.

During the day, Kelce, Mahomes and a group of pals—including Chiefs safety Justin Reid—hit at Shadow Creek Golf Course. The gang donned matching shirts with the Vegas Golf Classic logo, before partying at the on-site bar.

A video posted to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday by the Travis Kelce Fan Page shows the 34-year-old racing to finish a vase of beer before a friend.

The clip begins with Kelce and his pal clinking their giant glasses, before they begin chugging the drink.

While the other contestant chooses to gulp down his drink, spilling plenty as he goes, Kelce decides to take it slow and steady. The Chiefs' tight end doesn't miss a drop but seems to regret the decision afterward.

Looking uncomfortable, Kelce bends over and puts his hands on his knees, seemingly attempting to regain his composure.

"Come on, Travis! That was lame," joked @Bonfire06, who added: "Taylor would slam that thing down in no time!"

Newsweek has reached out to Travis Kelce for comment via email.

"Wait for the end," the poster wrote alongside the clip, which has received over 100,000 views.

"Poor Travis," commented @barbaracarelli.

"He didn't throw up tho, just got really close," joked Emily Reid.

"He's so overconfident at the beginning and the ending took me out," said @ChickenItz4.

His brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, had mocked his beer-chugging abilities during an episode of their New Heights podcast in March.

The duo were joined by Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who wanted to know which brother would triumph in a drinking contest.

"I'm pretty sure I've beaten Jason the last three to five times," Travis Kelce said, but Jason quickly jumped in to deny the claim.

"This is completely made up," the 36-year-old declared, before asking for clarification from Barkley.

"First of all, what's the competition? You're talking about chugging a beer?" he asked, with Barkley confirming it was a beer-chugging battle.

In response, Jason claimed he could "definitely drink more volume," suggesting that his brother doesn't "have the heart I do when it comes to drinking."

Travis replied: "[Jason] hasn't stayed out past 10 p.m. since 2017."

Still, Jason remained confident, adding: "I will destroy him because I got the mental advantage."
