Trump Blasts Jewish Leaders for 'Lack of Loyalty' After Fuentes Dinner

Former President Donald Trump said in a social media post on Friday that he was "by far" the best president to the nation of Israel.

Trump made the remarks on his Truth Social platform just a couple weeks after he had dinner with rapper Kanye West, or Ye, and white nationalist Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago. The rapper later called Trump a "liar" for his account of the meeting after the former president defended himself by saying that he "didn't know" who Fuentes was when he had dinner with him amid receiving harsh criticism from Republicans and Democrats.

"...How quickly Jewish Leaders forgot that I was the best, by far, President for Israel," Trump wrote. "They should be ashamed of themselves. This lack of loyalty to their greatest friends and allies is why large numbers in Congress, and so many others, have stopped giving support to Israel."

Trump's response was in relation to an article written by Wayne Allyn Root last week in The Gateway Pundit, in which Root called the recent affiliations between Trump, West and Fuentes the "greatest gaslight in history."

"I love the Jewish people. I'm proud of the success of the Jewish people," Root wrote, who is also known as "the Conservative Warrior" and is Jewish himself. "And I've fought strongly and proudly for Israel my entire adult life. So, if a President of the United States was associated with radical extremists, Jew haters and Holocaust deniers, I'd be the first one to condemn him."

Root also wrote about Barack Obama's alleged ties to Pastor Jeremiah Wright, in which he said the former president "spent 20 years around a racist, hate-filled, Jew hater and anti-Semite."

"The entire Democrat Party is filled with Jew haters, anti-Semites and politicians who hate Israel and work against the interests of the Jewish people 24/7/365," Root continued. "Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have spent plenty of time around Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, among many others. They're not just friends, they're TEAMMATES."

In regards to Trump's dinner with West and Fuentes, Root called it a "scam" and "gaslighting at the highest level." Instead of putting blame on Trump, he blamed a "clearly mentally disturbed" West for setting Trump up and causing a "media firestorm" to fuel his own political aspirations. The rapper has recently announced his own run for president in 2024 and said he went to Mar-a-Lago to ask Trump to be his running mate.

Since their sit-down with Trump, West and Fuentes have continued on a media tour that recently included an appearance on Alex Jones' InfoWars.

Aside from denigrating former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the rapper told Jones he made antisemitism popular. Meanwhile, this past Saturday in Los Angeles, West told Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes that Jewish people should forgive Adolf Hitler. Hitler's Nazi regime oversaw the Holocaust during which more than 6 million Jewish people were murdered in concentration camps across Europe.

A spokesperson for the American Jewish Committee (AJC) declined to comment to Newsweek, instead referring to two previous tweets in reaction to Trump's previous comments about Jewish people in America.

One was related to remarks Trump made last December in which he said American Jews "either don't like Israel or don't care about Israel."

"Why is Mr. Trump once again fueling dangerous stereotypes about Jews?" reads one AJC tweet from December 17, 2021. "His past support for Israel doesn't give him license to traffic in radioactive antisemitic tropes — or peddle unfounded conclusions about the unbreakable ties that bind American Jews to Israel. Enough!"

Another AJC tweet following the dinner meeting at Mar-a-Lago said that it was "outrageous that Mr. Trump met with Kanye West, one of social media's biggest antisemites."

"That in and of itself is enough to send a shiver down the spine of every American," the tweet continued. "Equally alarming, far-right leader Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist, was also at the meeting."
