Awards season is back, ladies and gentleman, as the Golden Globe Awards returns for its 76th annual bow on Sunday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. This year's competition is tighter than ever as the night's biggest awards are up for grabs.

The Golden Globes are a crucial beginning to awards season as the night's winners could indicate the outcome of the Academy Awards in February. Vice, BlacKkKlansman and A Star Is Born are among the high-profile pictures leading the pack in the film categories. But who will win big this year? Well, one of the best way to predict who's going home with what is by seeing what oddsmakers have to say.

Hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, the Golden Globes airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Golden Globes 2019 Betting Odds — Film:

Best Picture — Drama

  • Black Panther
  • BlacKkKlansman
  • Bohemian Rhapsody
  • If Beale Street Could Talk
  • A Star Is Born

The Golden Globes's best picture — drama category features some of the most talked about films of the year. While Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody were popular among filmgoers, so was A Star Is Born. The Bradley Cooper-directed flick, which tackles issues related to mental health, scored five Golden Globe nods. Its popularity among fans and critics alike, careful treatment of a sensitive subject matter, and its multiple nominations are likely why oddsmakers have pegged it as the film to beat. Gold Derby positioned the film's odds of winning at 31/10 and Bovado placed it at 2/9 odds.

Best Picture — Comedy or Musical

  • Crazy Rich Asians
  • The Favourite
  • Green Book
  • Mary Poppins Returns
  • Vice

The best picture — comedy or musical category has awarded the likes of Lady Bird, La La Land, The Hangover, Toy Story 2 and Chicago over the last several years. This year's race includes very different films along the comedic and musical spectrum with Vice, Mary Poppins Returns and Crazy Rich Asians being the most buzzed about nominees. However, oddsmakers suspect Green Book—which is based on pianist Dr. Don Shirley's life—will come out on top. Gold Derby's odds landed at 69/20, whereas Bovado's rested at 23/20.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama

  • Bradley Cooper, A Star Is Born
  • Willem Dafoe, At Eternity's Gate
  • Lucas Hedges, Boy Erased
  • Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody
  • John David Washington, BlacKkKlansman

It would a surprise, and also disappointing, for some fans if Bradley Cooper didn't win for his part in A Star Is Born. Bovado even positioned the actor as the likely contender to walk away with the award at 1/3 odds. However, Rami Malek could snag the trophy for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. Gold Derby, in fact, placed the Mr. Robot actor at 82/25 odds as Cooper was in second with 7/2 odds.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama

  • Glenn Close, The Wife
  • Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born
  • Nicole Kidman, Destroyer
  • Melissa McCarthy, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
  • Rosamund Pike, A Private War

Pop singer Lady Gaga's electrifying effort in A Star Is Born has been among the most talked about performances ahead of awards season, which is likely why oddsmakers predicted the "A Million Reasons" songstress will win. Gold Derby's odds for Gaga are at 31/10. Bovado, however, has Gaga at 2/5 odds.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy

  • Christian Bale, Vice
  • Lin Manuel Miranda, Mary Poppins Returns
  • Viggo Mortensen, Green Book
  • Robert Redford, The Old Man & the Gun
  • John C. Reilly, Stan & Ollie

Christian Bale had to gain more than 40 pounds to play the part of former vice president Dick Cheney in Vice, but he also gave a strong performance in the Adam McKay-directed film. Therefore, it's no surprise that oddsmakers have pegged Bale as the likely winner. Gold Derby has Bale leading at 82/25 odds. Bovado positioned Bale at 5/7 odds.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy

  • Emily Blunt, Mary Poppins Returns
  • Olivia Colman, The Favourite
  • Elsie Fisher, Eighth Grade
  • Charlize Theron, Tully
  • Constance Wu, Crazy Rich Asians

All of the actresses competing within this category have put their best foot forward in their respective films. While Disney has been pushing for Emily Blunt to succeed for her part in Mary Poppins Returns, oddsmakers have pegged Olivia Colman as the actress to win. Gold Derby has Colman at 16/5 odds, with Blunt in second at 18/5 odds. Bovado has Colman at 5/7 odds, with Blunt falling behind at 3/2.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture

  • Mahershala Ali, Green Book
  • Timothée Chalamet, Beautiful Boy
  • Adam Driver, BlacKkKlansman
  • Richard E. Grant, Can You Ever Forgive Me?
  • Sam Rockwell, Vice

Sam Rockwell had a good run during last year's awards season as he won the Golden Globe, Screen Actor's Guild, the BAFTA and the Academy Award for his performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. However, he may not be so lucky in 2019. Mahershala Ali has been given 82/25 odds to win by Gold Derby and 10/13 odds by Bovado.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture

  • Amy Adams, Vice
  • Claire Foy, First Man
  • Regina King, If Beale Street Could Talk
  • Emma Stone, The Favourite
  • Rachel Weisz, The Favourite

While all actresses competing within this category have proven time and time again that they are among the best within the business today, only one lucky lady will walk away with a Golden Globe. Oddsmakers suggest it will be Regina King for her performance in If Beale Street Could Talk. Gold Derby has positioned King at 17/5 odds whereas Bovado has her at 2/5 odds. Amy Adams, however, has been placed as the second likely star to win by Gold Derby and Bovado.

Best Director — Motion Picture

  • Bradley Cooper, A Star Is Born
  • Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
  • Peter Farrelly, Green Book
  • Spike Lee, BlacKkKlansman
  • Adam McKay, Vice

This is a tough category as all the nominated directors have received great praise for their efforts this year. While Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born is predicted to win big on Sunday, the best director category might not be a category it crushes. Alfonso Cuarón is positioned to win by oddsmakers. Gold Derby has Cuarón at 16/5 odds and Bovado at 2/5 odds, but Cooper did come in second on both websites.

Best Screenplay — Motion Picture

  • Alfonso Cuarón, Roma
  • Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara, The Favourite
  • Barry Jenkins, If Beale Street Could Talk
  • Adam McKay, Vice
  • Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, Green Book

Vice may be among a few select films leading the pack of Golden Globes nominees this year, but it might not strike gold in the screenplay category. Gold Derby, in fact, has predicted The Favourite's cleverly crafted screenplay could win with 82/25 odds.

Best Motion Picture — Animated

  • Incredibles 2
  • Isle of Dogs
  • Mirai
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet
  • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

2018 offered some of the most glorious animated films moviegoers have seen in recent years, but Isle of Dogs and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse brought something different to the table. While Pixar does tend to perform well in the category, Incredibles 2 could come up short here despite Bovado's odds for it to win at 7/5. Gold Derby, in fact, predicted Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse may win at 17/5 odds.

Best Picture — Foreign Language

  • Capernaum
  • Girl
  • Never Look Away
  • Roma
  • Shoplifters

The most buzzed-about foreign film in 2018 would have to be Alfonso Cuarón's Roma, which makes oddsmakers bets on the film's chances at winning no surprise at all. Gold Derby has Roma at 3/1 odds and Bovado at 1/6 odds.

Best Original Score — Motion Picture

  • Marco Beltrami, A Quiet Place
  • Alexandre Desplat, Isle of Dogs
  • Ludwig Göransson, Black Panther
  • Justin Hurwitz, First Man
  • Marc Shaiman, Mary Poppins Returns

Mary Poppins Returns is outnumbered. It's the only musical competing within the best original song category. However, oddsmakers at Gold Derby have positioned the Emily Blunt-led feature as the likely winner with 10/3 odds.

Best Original Song — Motion Picture

  • "All the Stars," Black Panther
  • "Girl in the Movies," Dumplin'
  • "Requiem for a Private War," A Private War
  • "Revelation," Boy Erased
  • "Shallow," A Star Is Born

Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "All the Stars" for Black Panther gained popularity earlier in the year, especially as it played frequently on Top 40 radio. However, it doesn't necessarily fall in line with songs that win awards at the Golden Globes. Past winners in this category came from films like La La Land, The Greatest Showman, Selma and The Wrestler. Oddsmakers at Gold Derby, however, have positioned "Shallow" from A Star Is Born to win with 59/20 odds.
