Woman Puts Blunt Question to Husband, His 'Perfect Answer' Splits Opinion

A video posted by a couple on TikTok has gone viral, sparking debate in the comments about the subject of loyalty in relationships.

The video, posted by Sam and Monica under the handle @samandmonica, shares Sam's response when Monica asked him what he would do if he was married to someone else and encountered her. Since it was posted on February 16, it has over 200,000 views.

"If you were married to someone else and you saw me, would you leave your wife for me?" she asked him in the video.

"It's funny for you to assume that I'd be married if I hadn't met you," he replied. "I don't want to be married if it's not to you."

After Monica urged him to answer the question and "stop being perfect," Sam said that he would "risk it all" to be with Monica, even if it meant leaving his hypothetical wife.

"We're in public and I'm at a coffee shop. You're walking past, our eyes meet, I take a sip of my mocha—I'll risk it all for you," Sam said.

"So, your wife's just left in the dust?" Monica replied.

While many TikTokers found Sam's initial declaration of love endearing, others raised concerns about the implications of his answer. Some argued that his willingness to leave a spouse for Monica could be seen as disloyalty and questioned the ethical implications of his decision.

"His first answer was perfect. But in the end, he failed," user @cypressel wrote.

"I actually don't want that answer. It would be a better answer if he said that he wouldn't leave his wife," TikToker @astrireads wrote.

Some even pushed Monica to turn the hypothetical around onto her current relationship.

"So, now you have to think if you are the one—or he may see that one in a coffeeshop one day and leave you," @fumbduckies commented.

"In another timeline, his other wife is asking the same question and he's giving the same answer," user @michael3480 posted.

The video has prompted a broader discussion about the complexities of love, loyalty, and ethical behavior in relationships. Still, Sam's answer did manage to melt some hearts online, especially among women searching for their perfect partner.

"Where'd you find this fairytale man?" TikToker @kaitlyn222000.

Sam and Monica haven't responded to the debate in the comments and continue to make content centered around similar hypothetical questions. In an older video, Monica asked Sam who he would marry if he could marry anyone in the world.

"You," he replied.
