The Best-Dressed Dogs for Halloween, Including 'The Witcher's' Geralt

Let's face it, dogs in costumes are a hit all-year-round. Whether pretending to be a cop or a panda, anyone with a soul can appreciate a furry pup playing dress-up.

Still, there's something special about Halloween, with pet owners going above and beyond to ensure their dog is scarily adorable.

Here's Newsweek's round-up of the best Halloween dog costumes for 2022.

Maleficent the Ghost

Gave her my heart too😍

♬ Oh Klahoma - Jack Stauber

The cutest trick-or-treater imaginable, no one can say no to Maleficent and her simple yet spooky ghost costume.

In a clip shared on October 5, her owner—TikTok user @thegoodhype—opens the door to the Great Dane, who is patiently waiting outside in a sheet. With her ears adorably sticking through the cloth and a treat bucket in her mouth, users were prepared to give Maleficent "all the treats," with the video receiving more than 580,000 likes.

Jack as a serial killer

We got papi a new Halloween outfut! Lmfaooo #dogsoftiktok #LuckContent

Jack doesn't need a foam knife to steal your heart. Still, in a video shared to TikTok by his owner Quierra Luck (@quierraluck) on October 14, the tiny pup can be seen waddling around in his mini serial killer costume.

The terrible wig—which users compared to "James Brown" and "Gary Coleman"—along with Jack's reluctant face, make this possibly the funniest Halloween costume of 2022. Since being posted, the clip has received almost 4 million views and more than 720,000 likes.

Rory as a seal, Geralt of Rivia, ice cream and more

Wait for it.... (this is all jokes. Well, it's all 100% true but it's tradition to make a terrible song every year when she loses), it's really not that deep. Now excuse me while I go cry 🤣🤣 #spookyseason #onethingaboutme #onething #storytime #halloween #dogsoftiktok

Winning extra points for effort, Rory the French Bulldog has rocked everything from a seal costume to a dressing as a Blizzard ice cream for Halloween.

In a rap-narrated run-down shared on October 3, her owner Heather Land showcases Rory's costumes from the last four years. Sadly, even a turn as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher was not enough to win judges' hearts, with Rory, who despite the name is a female, losing every costume contest she's entered since 2018.

Internet users can't get enough of Rory and her many outfits though, with the video receiving over 2 million views and 450,000 likes.

Teddy as Batman

With 11.6 million views, Teddy is the hero we deserve and need right now. In a clip shared to Twitter by owner Johnathan (@aguyandagolden) on October 9, the golden retriever stands triumphant in Batman costume, chest puffed out, while a fan blows his cape majestically.

Citizens, Teddy, his mask, and his tiny little shoes are here to keep you safe this dark night.

Rocky as Carmen Miranda

Showing off his dancing skills, Rocky the French Bulldog (@goodboyrocky1) is definitely the "King of the Rumba Beat." The paralyzed pup's lust for life has made him a TikTok sensation, with his Carmen Miranda costume—shared on October 17—receiving 28 million views.

In the cute clip, Rocky waddles up to the camera to showcase his costume, with his fruit hat and ruffled dress not slowing him down in the slightest. As well as receiving over 4 million likes, the comment section is filled with TikTokers thanking Rocky for cheering them up this spooky season.
