A bull terrier named Happy has melted hearts online after a video of him sneaking into his owner's sweater went viral on social media.

The viral clip, shared on TikTok on Thursday by the dog owner, under the username Happythebullterrier3, shows Happy climbing into his owner's sweater after contemplating the thought for a moment. He then snuggles into it, giving his owner the biggest smile.

According to VCA Animal Hospitals, dogs are social and emotional beings, who react with joy to our scent and respond to the tone of our voice, and most of all they actually do love their human companions!

They say it's easy to see when a dog loves you, and the signs include being happy when they see you (jumping, barking, wagging their tails), giving you presents (like their toys), and they will only put you second to food!

Other signs include them sleeping with you, which means that they feel safe with you and consider you part of their pack, looking at you with loving eyes (relaxed and pupils that are normal size), and following you around everywhere!

A 2017 Swedish study found that dogs and owners can mutually sense the other's emotional state based on an increased ability to read the other's behavioral cues. The study also found that calm, anti-stress behaviors in humans caused a similar response in their dogs.

The video quickly attracted many animal lovers from across the platform, receiving over 3.4 million views and 590,600 likes.

One user, lilolil24, commented: "Aww the joy on her face when her baby jumped in awww." And Cjl2412 said: "That little bit of happiness you displayed in that moment is [exactly] why everyone needs a pet." Brooke Uliana added: "The happy little tippy taps your hands did when he was all snuggled in."

Another user, Kleanne2 joked "He said 'oh you look cozy, me join,'" and Kirsten Main said: "Lol no he just got tired of waiting for you to offer and decided to take a chance." Kate wrote: "Bro saw his chance and took it."

KEC pointed out: "He tested with his snoot before deciding it was a good cuddly place to nap." And Cameron Paige said: "to be fair, he was asking politely for a minute."

YDoc said: "I love how he could have [chosen to go] under the blanket beside you but instead he chose [to snuggle] up with you." And Jennifer Z added: "That is hysterical and adorable but the look on her face!!! How cute."
