Dog Can't Contain "the Excitement' When He Sees Mom at Groomers

Dog owners can always count on their furry friends to make them feel loved—as shown by one dog who was ecstatic to see his owner after a grooming appointment.

Racking up 2.9 million views, the clip shared to by pet groomer (@rockpupperscissors) shows the moment Buddy, a cockapoo, breaks into an excited dance when he sees his owner through the glass window.

The hilarious TikTok video captioned: "Buddy had to do that whole body wiggle when mom came to pick him up! He's got the moves," has over 211,000 likes.

The average grooming appointment can range from 30 minutes to three hours, according to Care.com. So it's unclear how long Buddy was away from his owner, but his reaction certainly suggests he missed her.

Nick Horniman, a veterinary surgeon and founder of an online pet pharmacy, previously told Newsweek about behavior that shows your dog loves you.

He said: "Happy excited greetings are a dead giveaway. A dog that greets you enthusiastically when you come home, with a wagging tail, excited barking and jumping, is clearly expressing their joy at your return. This behavior shows that they've missed you and are glad you're back,"

This was echoed by Dr. Sam Meisler, veterinarian, CEO, and founder of PetWellClinic, who also told Newsweek: "If your dog is excited to see you, sticks by your side when at home, and displays affectionate behavior toward you, such as leaning against you, and seeking your attention, you have a special place in your dog's heart!

If you are an owner and yet to see your dog wiggle like Buddy, then it's never too late to strengthen the bond you have.

We have also spoken to a U.K. based-Kennel Club accredited dog trainer Joe Nutkins about the secret ways to improve your relationship with your dog—and it's easier than you think.

She previously suggested following these easy steps:-

  • Have some alone time with your dog.
  • Be patient.
  • Be positive.
  • Try a new activity such as playing soccer.
  • Go for a walk in a quiet place.
