Dog Having 'Another Existential Crisis' While Holding Her Toy Goes Viral

We all get lost in our thoughts sometimes, and this applies to dogs too. One called Honey has delighted viewers on the internet after a video of her zoning out went viral on TikTok.

In the viral clip, shared in November by the dog's owner, under the username @mrs.markiware, Honey can be seen sitting down on the couch holding a doll in her mouth and staring at nothing while Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" plays in the background.

The hilarious post comes with a caption that says: "Just enjoying my coffee while this one stares into the abyss." Followed by: "Honey is having yet another existential crisis... 'Am I really a ...good girl?'"

Often when you think your dog is staring at nothing you're actually wrong, they're probably staring at something that you can see.

Dogs have significantly better hearing than we do, which according to the American Kennel Club (AKC), makes them able to pick up on things that we don't, such as infestations.

"Squirrels, termites, bees, and all sorts of other critters tend to move in alongside us, often without our realization, but they can't sneak past our observant canines," the website says.

"If your dog is staring at a wall, sit down next to her and listen quietly. See if your dog tilts her head from time to time, as if she is following a noise, and press your ear against the wall to see if you can hear anything. If you suspect there might be something there, call an exterminator."

However, sometimes there really is nothing, and in these cases, their behavior may be due to medical conditions, like cognitive dysfunction syndrome. If you suspect your dog is unwell you should contact your veterinarian and get them examined.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 951,500 views and 139,600 likes on the platform.

One user, My Dog Is Selfish, commented: "Did I grab a toy or an actual baby? I'm scared to find out." And Kalyn Price said: "Me leaving the hospital with my newborn."

Humanpersonface added: "The pressures of motherhood can [be] very overwhelming."
