'Don't Look Your Age Challenge' Sees People Share Youthful Selfies

Twitter users are sharing photos of themselves looking much younger than their real age as part of the viral #DontLookYourAgeChallenge.

The #DontLookYourAgeChallenge is currently the second most popular trending topic on Twitter in the U.S., with more than 9,500 tweets.

The trend appears to have been started by Twitter user @MsToyaBabii229 who shared the hashtag yesterday morning. The Twitter user shared a selfie and said: "I'm 34 years Young!!!!!!!! Hbu guys???? #DontLookYourAgeChallenge"

The trend took off with thousands of people joining in, showing "how fabulous they look," according to Twitter.

Celebrities also joined in the challenge, like actress Holly Robinson Peete who shared a photo of her mother Dolores Peete and said "Just 2 weeks shy of 85!! #thatsmymama #DontLookYourAgeChallenge"

Writer Tara Dublin shared a black and white photo of herself and said: "52 in 32 days #DontLookYourAgeChallenge"

Television personality Shira Lazar shared a selfie and said: "#DontLookYourAgeChallenge 37 baby!"

TikTok star Meghan McCarthy, whose bio says: "I'm older than I sound," shared four selfies and said: "All of these were taken on the toilet #29 #DontLookYourAgeChallenge"

Actor Johnny Whitworth said: "So far so good 45 #DontLookYourAgeChallenge"

The #DontLookYourAgeChallenge is also popular on TikTok where it has 225.5K views. The videos are a mix of people looking much younger than they are, like in the Twitter trend, but there are also many TikTok viewers using the hashtag to show they look much older than their actual age.

Some TikTokers taking part in the trend also shared stories of how they have had their age mistaken, with adults saying they get offered child menus in restaurants or still get carded for alcohol.

Another trend that was popular on TikTok last summer saw users film themselves using a TikTok sound that said: "Alright, this sound is for everyone who looks younger than their actual age, and people don't believe them when you tell them how old you are."

There are more than 70,000 videos that used the sound on TikTok. A popular video from the trend is by content creator Valeria Lipovetsky, who revealed that she was 30 years old and the mother of three children.

Viewers were shocked, with top comments including "I thought you were 16" and "You could pass as 14."

Now, the trend has taken over Twitter. To take part in the viral Twitter trend, simply share a selfie with your followers revealing your age and add the hashtag #DontLookYourAgeChallenge—you could also tell a story about how your age has been mistaken. Alternatively, you could keep your age a secret and ask your followers to guess how old they think you are.
