How to Evolve Bisharp into Kingambit in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokemon Bisharp, which evolves from Pawniard, has finally been given a third-stage evolution. But if you want to see what it is, you're going to have to do a little more than simply level up Bisharp through regular Pokemon encounters or Trainer battles.

Some Pokemon cannot evolve simply through normal means like earning experience. They need special stones, like Eevee can evolve with the Thunder Stone into Jolteon. Others can evolve at certain times of the day, or when you reach a specific friendship level. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and other Pokemon games, you'll need to give your Pokemon different items to help them evolve.

Bisharp is one such Pokemon. You'll need some time and patience to get the item you need to complete this evolution, but you'll also need to be a bit lucky. We can guide you through it at the very least, though. Read on for how to evolve Bisharp into Kingambit.

How to Evolve Bisharp into Kingambit in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Bisharp needs the Leader's Crest to evolve into Kingambit. However, simply having it hold the Leader's Crest and then completing battles and experience won't work. You need to have your Bisharp hold a Leader's Crest, then defeat three additional Bisharp that also have a Leader's Crest. As you can imagine, this can make things quite difficult.

First, you need to find a Bisharp that's holding a Leader's Crest. Typically, these include Bisharp that you can find in the middle of groups of Pawniard. Head over to North Province Area Two, east of Glaseado Mountain and north of East Province Area Three. Look for groups of Pawniard surrounding a Bisharp and capture one. You'll typically find one with a Leader's Crest in these groups.

However, getting the Leader's Crest can prove difficult. You'll have to catch the Bisharp or use a move like Thief to get the item. Once you have it, head on out and try to rack up your defeated Bisharps with the Leader's Crest. Once you've done so, if your Bisharp is in your party holding the item, you should see it evolve.

That's all you have to do—but it will take a considerable amount of time and patience. Kingambit is well worth the wait, but you'll be playing a while to get it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
