The House select committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021, held its first public hearing on June 9, with a second hearing to be held on June 13.

Throughout the first hearing, testimonies were given by witnesses present during the Capitol attack. These included U.S. Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards, who described a pro-Trump mob's breach of the the Capitol building's west front as "an absolute war zone."

Edwards testified to the House January 6 committee how she and other officers were overpowered by the mob.

Liz Cheney has stated that the attack was one example of many threats to democracy, and that there was an "extremely broad" and "extremely well-organized" conspiracy by Former President Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election results.

The second committee hearing will feature additional testimonies.

What time is the committee hearing on Monday, June 13?

The second committee hearing will take place between 10.30 to 10.45 a.m E.T.

This is slightly delayed as one of the witnesses who was meant to testify, William Stepien can no longer do so, due to a family emergency. Stepien was the former campaign manager for Donald Trump.

The committee hearing will be open to the public and televised, meaning you can live-stream it.

You can watch it on any of the CBS stations, or stream it on CBS News on your phone or any other streaming device.

A committee aid has stated that "we're going to hear testimony from government officials who were the ones who looked for the fraud, and about how the effort to uncover these baseless allegations bore no fruit". "Simply, the fraud that they were looking for didn't exist and the former president was told that, again and again, claims were baseless, but he continued to repeat them anyway."

Who are some of the witnesses at the committee hearing on Monday, June 13?

Several people will testify in the second committee hearing. These includes Chris Stirewalt, former Fox News digital political director.

Ben Ginsberg, who was a fierce Trump critic even before the 2020 election, will also testify, and we will also be hearing from B. J. Pak, the former U.S attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.

The Republican former Philadelphia City Commissioner Al Schmidt will also provide testimony. He is a long-time Trump critic, especially regarding the former president's unfounded and disproven claims about widespread fraud in the 2020 election.
