Jeffrey Epstein Victims' Attorney Talks About Donald Trump Claims

Video has resurfaced of the attorney who represented a number of Jeffrey Epstein's victims discussing the financier and convicted sex offender's relationship with Donald Trump.

Epstein was found dead in his New York City jail cell in August 2019 whilst awaiting trial for the alleged sex trafficking of minors. A medical examiner later ruled his death was the result of suicide by hanging.

Hundreds of court filings relating to Epstein are due to be made public this week in a lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, one of his alleged victims, which are expected to identify a number of his associates. This has triggered speculation that more details could become available about the relationship between Epstein and Trump, who flew on the disgraced financier's private jet seven times between 1993 and 1997.

In 2019 Trump said he was "not a fan" of Epstein and there is no suggestion that the former president and current Republican presidential front-runner, played any role in the financier's reported crimes.

In 2018 Bradley Edwards, an attorney who represented a number of those who claimed Epstein was involved in their abuse, spoke about the financer's relationship with Trump during an interview with Derrick Broze of The Conscious Resistance Network, a self-styled "independent media organization" that claims to work "to create a world where corporate and state power does not rule over the lives of free human beings."

Asked about Epstein's relationship with Trump he replied: "The only thing I can say about President Trump is that he is the only person who in 2009, when I served a lot of subpoenas on a lot of people, or at least gave notice to some pretty connected people that I wanted to talk to them, he is the only person who picked up the phone and said 'lets just talk, I'll give you as much time as you want, I'll tell you what you need to know.'

Edwards said Trump: "Was very helpful in the information he gave and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever but had good information that checked out and that helped us and that we didn't have to take a deposition of him."

On Tuesday the clip was posted on X, formerly Twitter, by the conservative End Wokeness account, where it racked up more than 4.1 million views and 22,000 likes.

Newsweek has reached out to Edwards and a Trump representative for comment by email.

Edwards expanded on his interactions with Trump in his 2020 book Relentless Pursuit: My Fight For The Victims Of Jeffrey Epstein, extracts of which were published by British newspaper The Mail on Sunday. He claimed to have spoken to Trump twice about his relationship with Epstein, which the business tycoon insisted was primarily business related.

In the extracts he said: "Over the next few years, I spoke to several witnesses who told us that they had been introduced by Epstein to Trump. Some had seen him at Epstein's office, others at one of Epstein's homes, at parties or social events, and even on his plane. In fact, Epstein bragged to certain young women in his life about how he had bailed Trump out of bankruptcy and how he was indebted to him.

"Last year, I saw a 1992 video of Epstein and Trump together, suggesting that they were closer social friends than I had been made to understand."

Trump lavished praise on Epstein in a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, which took place before the financier pleaded guilty as part of a 2008 plea deal to soliciting prostitution from a person under 18. Speaking to the publication he said: "I've known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.

"He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life."

Speaking after Epstein's arrest as part of a much larger sex trafficking investigation in July 2019, Trump said he only knew the financier because "everybody in Palm Beach" did and insisted they had not spoken in 15 years after falling out.
