Jon Stewart poked fun at Alabama Senator Katie Britt over her "objectively terrible" rebuttal of President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.
After joking about the president's speech to Congress during Monday night's episode of The Daily Show, Stewart moved onto the Republican reply delivered by Britt, sharing a clip of her scathing 17-minute video response.
The Context
Claiming that America "can do better," the 42-year-old attorney condemned Biden's border policy, calling it a "disgrace" and telling the president to "end this crisis and stop the suffering."
She also spoke directly to her "fellow moms," telling them: "We see you, we hear you. We stand with you."
Britt's intense delivery appeared to concern Stewart, who feigned fear.
"If you're going to stand with me, could you stand a little bit further away?" the comedian joked.
"I imagine that one of her kids just came downstairs and was like 'I'm sorry mom, I just came down to get a bowl of cereal, I didn't realize you were losing your f****** mind," Stewart continued, adding: "I'll come back when the [Xanax] kicks in."
The 61-year-old acknowledged that many have "had a go" at Britt following the rebuttal, but felt that one part of her reply had been overlooked.
"We are the party of hardworking parents and families," an impassioned Britt said in the video. "So I am asking you for the sake of your kids and grandkids, get into the arena.
"We are steeped in the blood of patriots, who overthrew the most powerful empire in the world."
In response, Stewart said: "Who smiles when they say the line 'we are steeped in the blood of patriots?
"This is just one more entry in the Republican mythology that they are the inheritors of the American revolutionary tradition. That they are somehow more 'Americany' than non-Republican Americans."

Britt isn't the only Republican that Stewart mocked during this week's episode of The Daily Show. The host also ridiculed Marjorie Taylor Greene's appearance at the State of the Union address, describing the Georgia Senator as a "bridge troll who guards the podium."
Greene was threatened with removal from the Capitol building on Thursday after she wore a MAGA hat to Biden's speech, along with a badge reading "Biden's Border Crisis" and another featuring the face of Laken Riley.
The 22-year-old nursing student was killed in February, with Georgia police arresting Jose Antonio Ibarra, an undocumented migrant from Venezuela, in connection with her death.
Stewart has also recently faced allegations that he's "bothsideist," after mocking both Donald Trump and Biden during recent episodes.
