Khloé Kardashian, Tristan Thompson Face Off Over Paying For True's Birthday

Khloé Kardashian refused to let ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson pay for their daughter True Thompson's fourth birthday party.

On the latest episode of The Kardashians, titled "What's More American Than Marilyn Monroe?," obtained in advance by Newsweek, the reality star, 38, got into a dispute with mom Kris Jenner over the matter.

"So I don't know if I'm supposed to tell you this or not but, um, Tristan called me," Jenner, 66, said while pulling the Good American co-founder aside at the bash.

"Yeah," Kardashian said, intrigued. "And he said that he privately went ahead and, um, took care of the whole party."

Although the mom of two—who shares daughter True and a son with Thompson—said the gesture is "nice" she "won't let that happen."

"No, he's not taking care of the whole party," Kardashian noted of the NBA star, 31.

Jenner, however, disagreed.

"You should. He was so excited to do that," she said, before Kardashian clapped back, "And I'm so excited that I could do it all by myself."

"I know but you should let him do that," Jenner added of the dad of four—who also shares sons Prince with ex Jordan Craig and Theo with model Maralee Nichols. "He wanted to do that for her for her birthday."

In a separate confessional, the Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami alum explained why she couldn't accept Thompson's money.

"I work really hard to do elaborate things for True, and I don't need anyone's help," she said.

Kardashian and Thompson sparked dating rumors in August 2016 and made their first appearance as a couple the following month while celebrating Flo Rida's birthday party in Miami.

The pair quickly became serious and discussed having children on the season 13 finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"He wants to have, like, five or six kids with me, and that's lovely," Kardashian said on the show in 2017. "We could start at one and then grow from there. But now, knowing I'm on birth control, it's really scary. It's like a really big step."

One year later, Thompson was embroiled in a cheating scandal that broke two days before Kardashian welcomed their daughter.

Then, in 2019, the Canadian native made headlines after he allegedly cheated on Kardashian with Jordyn Woods, Kylie Jenner's now-former best friend. At the time, Thompson seemingly denied the accusations by tweeting—and deleting—"FAKE NEWS."

In July, it was confirmed the exes were expanding their family via surrogate, months after it had been revealed that Thompson had a baby with Nichols.

In March, Kardashian told Variety that Thompson's paternity scandal "will be addressed" on the famous family's Hulu show.

"We try as a family to protect the privacy of our partners or significant others, since they didn't really sign up for this; we did. But if something is really public like this was, it would be strange if Tristan was a part of the show and then all of a sudden he disappears and we don't ever talk about it," she explained.

Despite the drama, however, Kardashian said, "everything happens for a reason."
