'Robbed' — Lady Gaga Fans React to Her Golden Globes Loss

Lady Gaga's Little Monsters have made their feelings known online after Nicole Kidman was the shock winner of the Best Actress in a Motion Picture prize at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards.

The 2022 Golden Globes were already steeped in controversy before they began as many celebrities and studios chose to boycott the ceremony in response to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's lack of diversity. It was also not broadcast by NBC this year as the HFPA works to increase the diversity amongst its membership.

Gaga, Kidman, Kristen Stewart, Olivia Colman and Jessica Chastain were all up for the prize and while none of them attended to collect the award, it was the Australian actress Kidman who took home the golden statuette.

Even though it was Stewart who was the frontrunner for the prize for her performance in Spencer, many of Gaga's fans are saying she was "robbed." Gaga was nominated her role as Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott's crime biopic House of Gucci, and her fans experienced a range of emotions after the results were announced.

Some, including Twitter users @hpfan_92, @krummy09 and @benslexi thought Gaga was "robbed" of the Golden Globe Award.

@Stenar agreed that Gaga was robbed but also thought that Jennifer Coolidge should have won for her performance in the TV series The White Lotus, but that prize went to Sarah Snook from Succession.

Many other Lady Gaga fans made their displeasure at the result known on Twitter, immediately sharing their reactions after the result was announced.

Stewart has an equally as passionate fan base and Twitter user @ry_Int pointed out that the result may actually unite the two groups after both lost out on this occasion.

Many Gaga fans were gracious in defeat and congratulated Kidman for her win, which she got for playing Lucille Ball in the Amazon Prime Video biopic Being the Ricardos.

The account @LG_Views reminded the Little Monsters (Gaga's fans) that Gaga and Kidman are close with this picture of the pair at a previous awards ceremony.

@Hera21d and @ryancho318 were both quick to respectfully celebrate Kidman's achievement whilst also commiserating Gaga's loss.

Gaga, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, may have walked away empty handed on this occasion but her trophy cabinet will still be brimming with accolades.

Including her most recent recognition, Gaga has been nominated for five Golden Globe Awards, winning two for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel, and another for the song "Shallow" from A Star Is Born.

She's also already won a number of awards for her role in House of Gucci and is nominated for many others. Gaga fans will no doubt he hoping that she'll be vying for an Academy Award when the Oscar nominations are announced on Tuesday February 8, 2022.
