'Love Is Blind' Star Natalie Says 'Mean Sense of Humor' Is How She Flirts

Love Is Blind star Natalie Lee could treat her then-fiancé Shayne Jansen harshly during the show, but the two are on much better terms now.

In an exclusive, never-before-seen clip from the Love Is Blind reunion special, Lee addresses her way of flirting after a montage of some of her most awkward clips during the Mexican getaway segment.

In the montage, Lee calls Jansen a "piece of s***"; asks the men to take their shirts off—only to immediately tell Jansen to put his back on; and finally, asks him if she's "pretty" during a conversation.

"Do you think I'm pretty?" Lee asks.

"Are you fishing for compliments right now?" Jansen rejoins, and Lee hums in agreement.

"Not really, I'm just joking," Lee replies.

"Honestly, you gotta stop doing that 'cause I'm trying to have a fucking conversation," Jansen says. "You fishing for compliments? Like, stop. Like, just have a normal conversation with me. You're making it much harder than what it is."

"Love Is Blind" star Natalie Lee revealed that she flirts with her "mean sense of humor," but that her relationship with Shayne Jensen is much better now. Netflix

Following the montage, the video cuts back to the reunion set, where co-host Nick Lachey asks for Lee's take, and if watching the montage was "a mirror of sorts," and if she has a different take on her comments now.

"Yeah, definitely. Shayne and I actually talked about it, you know, when we were together. When, you know, when he kept saying, 'This is hurting my feelings,' when we got back to Chicago... It's the way I flirt ... this kind of mean sense of humor I do have. And it's just like the way I want to show him love—I know that's a bit weird," Lee said. "But, you know, I understood that I was hurting his feelings and I feel like it did stop, or it got less."

"No, it stopped, it did," Jansen agreed. "I think people saw it in the last five episodes... there wasn't much of that at all. It was actually true genuine love, and everything we communicated was so much different than Mexico."

"Maybe Mexico... was just so much so quickly, right away. Like, just living with each other right away," he continued. "It's an uncomfortable situation. But when we got to Chicago, it wasn't like that at all."

Though Lee and Jansen didn't get married in the Love Is Blind finale, Lee mentioned on the Netflix podcast We Have the Receipts that she and Jansen gave it another try after shooting ended. Though it was a less stressful time without the cameras there, the relationship ultimately didn't work out.

"I think, for the most part, what happened on our wedding day and the day before the wedding day, that fight, I couldn't move on from it. And I don't think he could either," she said. "Also, I think it comes down to we are very different people. With different needs and wants. And we also have some communication issues. We just couldn't figure out a solution or resolution to that."

Lee also told the podcast that as of now, she is 100 percent single.
