Meghan Markle Pays Cheeky Tribute to Prince Harry

Meghan Markle paid a cheeky tribute to Prince Harry on Friday as the couple attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Florida, benefiting the prince's Sentebale charity.

For the occasion, Meghan stood out on the field in an elegant white day dress with a statement bow tied at the neck, which was designed by California lifestyle brand Heidi Merrick. The design is named the "Ginger," being either a deliberate or happily coincidental tribute to the duchess' husband's famous red hair.

The wrap fronted halter-neck design featured a pleated hemmed skirt and exposed back, crafted in an ivory silk and hemp blend, priced at $515.

Meghan watched her husband take to the field from the sidelines with the wives of fellow players, such as Harry's pal Nacho Figueras' wife, Delfina. Friends of the couple were also in attendance, including tennis legend Serena Williams.

The couple's polo appearance came just a day after their production company, Archewell Productions, announced it was working on a documentary series delving into the behind-the-scenes action of the elite equine sport.

A press release issued through Harry and Meghan's personal website stated that the new show, which is being produced as part of their partnership with streaming giant Netflix, will be primarily shot at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Florida at the USPA National Polo Center.

The show, it said, will "provide viewers with unprecedented access to the world of professional polo."

"Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level," they added.

Meghan's choice to select her polo dress on Friday from a California based lifestyle brand comes as she recently made her own in-roads into the business sector.

Back in March, the duchess soft-launched her American Riviera Orchard brand with a slick new website and Instagram page. Though no details have yet been released about the brand and its offerings, trademark applications have sought to protect the name against the sale of a diverse range of product, including tableware, stationery, yoga mats, gardening accessories, pet food and nut butters.

On the day of the round robin polo event, Harry stormed to victory with his team, Royal Salute Sentebale, taking the trophy which was presented by Meghan in a prize-giving ceremony.

Sentebale was co-founded by Harry in 2006 with his close friend, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. The organization supports young people in Lesotho and Botswana, including those affected by HIV and AIDS.
