PETA Responds to Khloé Kardashian Video

PETA has responded to Khloé Kardashian over a video of her pet cat and young son.

The 39-year-old shared a clip of her 1-year-old son Tatum on Sunday. The reality TV star shares the toddler with her ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, along with 5-year-old daughter True.

The footage shows Tatum crawling towards the family cat, Grey Kitty, who sits calmly while he touches her fur and plays with the bell on her collar.

"Hi," he tells her, lying down on the floor to look into her eyes.

"Gentle," Kardashian warns him, as Tatum strokes the patient kitty under the chin. The toddler inquisitively attempts to pull the cat's whiskers, before Kardashian thwarts his attempt.

Grey Kitty doesn't seem to mind the attention, seeming unconcerned by the small human.

"Saturday Sibling Snuggles and a video of the most patient cat ever!!!" Kardashian wrote alongside the video. "Grey kitty is the sweetest."

Fans couldn't get enough of the darling duo, calling the clip "the cutest."

"I love when animals know that a little human is a baby and are so patient," commented Katarina.

"He's so good with grey kitty. What a sweet boy," said @iced_mocha_sherry_daley.

"I love seeing the bond of a kid with his animals. It's just the cutest," wrote Marianka Lessard.

"I was just super sad and that video made me laugh so hard," said Christine Stapleton. "Thanks for sharing."

Even PETA shared its thoughts on the video, writing: "Grey Kitty's calm & loving presence around Tatum is so heartwarming. Such a beautiful moment to capture."

Newsweek has reached out to Khloé Kardashian for comment via Instagram and PETA via email.

Despite the positive vibes in PETA's Instagram comment, the Kardashian-Jenner clan and the animal rights organization have a tumultuous history.

In 2021, PETA India honored Khloé's sister Kim Kardashian by naming a cow after her. The tribute followed the socialite's decision to go vegan, with Kim Kardashian urging her family and friends to do the same.

However, she received a warning from PETA in January 2023 after sharing footage of her pet Pomeranians, Sushi and Sake.

In a now-deleted video shared to TikTok, the 43-year-old's dogs appeared to be caged in her garage.

PETA counseled the business mogul on the risks of keeping her pets penned in, telling Page Six: "Knowing that Kim Kardashian is anti-fur and mostly vegan, we are hoping hard that she does not relegate her dogs to life in a garage.

"They deserve to feel safe, loved, and to live inside the house as part of the family."

In April, the non-profit slammed the Kardashian-Jenner family for selling their rare fur and animal-skin clothing and accessories, instead of donating the items to the homeless.

The family sold the divisive goods online via their secondhand store, Kardashian Closet. The items included mink fur coats and handbags made from crocodile skin, with the reality stars aiming to "promote sustainability" with the pre-owned sale.

PETA told The U.S. Sun at the time: "Nothing can undo the suffering of foxes, minks, snakes, and alligators who were killed to make a jacket or a pair of shoes, but the Kardashians can still do some good with these items.

"PETA has called on this family—which has so much—to donate them to us for use in educational displays and to distribute to unhoused people, refugees, and others in tremendous need."
