PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Walmart, Newegg, Best Buy, Antonline, Amazon and More

The last few days have been especially good for PS5 restocks, with a number of high-profile drops taking place.

Not only did Walmart and Antonline both release new units earlier on in the week, but there is currently a major in-store event running at GameStop.

To help you catch up with all of theses developments, Newsweek has put together the following breakdown. Here is the latest PS5 restock information.

Walmart PS5 Restock

As we reported in our previous update, there was a big restock at Walmart on Thursday, January 13.

However, the sale in question was exclusive to Walmart Plus customers only. This meant that there was an extra cost involved (on top of the PS5's recommended manufacturer price of $499) if you weren't already subscribed to the premium loyalty scheme.

Walmart often applies this restriction to its drops, so if you are desperate to one day get a console from the merchant, then it might be worth signing up. In addition to exclusive sales, a Walmart Plus membership entitles you to unlimited delivery with your orders and some occasional discounts. You can join for an annual fee of $98.

The PS5 is currently sold out again at Walmart, so you don't need to make a decision right now.

GameStop PS5 Restock

A PS5 restock is occurring at GameStop today (Friday, January 14), but only at select locations.

This is an in-store event, meaning that you can't place an order for delivery or collection using the merchant's website. Instead, you will have to physically travel to one of the participating locations and hope that they still have units leftover.

To see which stores are included in the restock event, take a look at this map.

Before you head over to one of the branches here, it's worth noting that you will also need to be registered for GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro scheme. Without a subscription to this, you will be unable to make a purchase (similar to the Walmart Plus situation).

For context, becoming a PowerUp Rewards Pro member will set you back an additional $14.99, and you aren't guaranteed to get a PlayStation just by joining. If you decide that it's still worthwhile, you can sign up on the GameStop website here.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon was most recently selling the PS5 just before the new year started and there has yet to be a single drop in 2022.

The online marketplace typically adheres to a monthly restock pattern when it comes to next-gen consoles. As such, PS5 trackers aren't expecting any more supplies to be available until the end of January at the earliest.

Of course, the idea that Amazon only restocks once a month is not a hard and fast rule, and there are sometimes deviations from the pattern. To ensure that you are not caught off guard by any last-minute developments, keep checking Newsweek's regular coverage.

Newegg PS5 Restock

Thursday's Newegg Shuffle did contain a few PS5 bundles. While these were all rather pricey (with some costing almost $1,000), you did get a lot for your money.

All of the packages shipped with Sony's console, 5 next-gen games, a spare controller and then an additional item of your choice (either a headset, a media remote or a storage expansion). The lottery draw has now closed, and these bundles aren't available anymore.

The current Newegg Shuffle (as of January 14) does not include any PS5 or Xbox Series X units. Instead, its contents are entirely made up of PC gaming components.

Target PS5 Restock

When it comes to next-gen consoles, Target coordinates restocks on a store-by-store basis.

In other words, the drops are not synchronized nationwide and the console could theoretically be up for grabs in one region of the country but not in another. To check the inventory levels of your own local branch, head over to the Target website and browse for PS5 units.

While you are doing this, make sure that you enter your ZIP-code into the relevant search field, so that you can narrow down the results. Otherwise, you might find a PS5 and get your hopes up, only to later discover that it's available for collection at the other end of the country.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

If you want to get a PS5 from the official Sony storefront, then you will need an invitation to join the virtual queue.

To even be considered for this, you must first register your interest using an active PlayStation Network (PSN) ID. Newsweek has prepared a comprehensive guide explaining how to do this here.

It's worth noting that an expression of interest will not guarantee you an invite to the PS Direct virtual queue, but it's the only way to even be in with a chance.

Antonline PS5 Restock

The PS5 is displaying as sold out on the Antonline website.

As always, you can instead pick up an Xbox Series S (which seemingly never goes out of stock) from the retailer. For more details about this, check out our latest update on the availability of Microsoft's rival hardware.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

At the time of writing, you can't add either the disc or digital edition of the PS5 to your Best Buy basket.

To be alerted as soon as the situation changes, we recommend that you follow dedicated console trackers like @GYXdeals or @Wario64 on Twitter and turn on notifications.

Costco PS5 Restock

Finally, the PS5 hasn't been stocked at Costco since October 2021.

In general, the retailer isn't known for selling gaming systems, so its drops are quite infrequent. After all, it didn't even replenish its inventory for Black Friday.

That being said, Costco does surprise us with a restock every now and then. For timely updates whenever this happens, make sure that you are following the likes of @GYXdeals or @Wario64.
