Selena Gomez Responds to Rumor She Dated JFK's Grandson

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Selena Gomez has decisively addressed the latest gossip connecting her romantically to Jack Schlossberg, John F. Kennedy's grandson.

The Only Murders in the Building actress responded directly to a fan account on Instagram, which had posted about her supposed relationship with Schlossberg. "Never met this human sorry," Gomez commented on the April 10 post.

This denial came after rumors surfaced on X, previously known as Twitter, suggesting that she and the Harvard Law graduate had dated from 2020 to 2021. However, Gomez, 31, clarified that their only interaction was when Schlossberg publicly expressed enthusiasm for her "When We All Vote" merchandise collaboration with Dover Street Market.

Excited about the merchandise, Schlossberg exclaimed on an Instagram Story, "Whatever it costs!! I have to have it!!" He even showcased his purchase later, posting, "It finally came!"

Schlossberg is notably connected to one of America's most storied political families. As the son of Caroline Kennedy and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg, Jack carries the legacy of his late grandparents, former President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. He is also a graduate of Harvard Law School.

Gomez is currently in a relationship with record producer Benny Blanco. The couple, first linked romantically in the summer of 2023, made their relationship public in December of the same year. Describing their relationship, she shared with Apple Music's Zane Lowe in February, "It's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome. I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel."

The Rare Beauty founder recently celebrated the 36th birthday of her boyfriend with a sweet post on social media. In her birthday tribute on Instagram, Gomez praised Blanco's qualities, saying, "Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you."

Their connection first sparked rumors in July when Blanco was spotted at Gomez's 31st birthday celebration, hinting at the blossoming romance between the pop star and the acclaimed songwriter.
