Sonic Frontiers: How to Farm Treasure Tokens

If you've already learned how to farm Skill Pieces in Sonic Frontiers, then you're already off to a great start in the latest adventure in Sega's acclaimed franchise. But, before you can really start making the most of the massive world you have to explore, it's highly recommended that you learn more about the Treasure Tokens you can acquire in the game.

Treasure Tokens, when collected, can be used to trade for a variety of different useful items, including different Seeds, Memory Tokens, Skill Pieces, and even other rare items that can only be found in the Token Store. But how exactly do you go about farming Treasure Tokens? Here's what you need to know.

Unlike Skill Pieces, which can be acquired from any enemy you defeat, Treasure Tokens can only be acquired by turning in different species of fish and other objects you catch while fishing. You'll need to turn in the items to Big the Cat, who can be found around the various fishing spots in Sonic Frontiers.

There are, of course, a few different things you can catch that will reward you with Treasure Tokens. Many of these items, such as Crayfish, Flying Fish, Goldfish, Medaka, and Tadpoles will only reward you with a single Treasure Token when turning them in.

However, some items will reward you with greater amounts of Treasure Tokens. Black Bass, Carp, Poison Dart Frogs, Red Cans, and Rings will all reward you with three Treasure Tokens. On the other hand, Choppers, Marlins, and Red Stingrays will grant you six Treasure Tokens when you catch and then turn them in to Big the Cat.

There are also a couple of items that can unlock the option to fast travel. However, if you don't want to fast travel around the islands at all, you could always turn these two special scrolls in to Big the Cat to reward yourself with a nice array of Treasure Tokens. Turning in the Elder Koco's Scroll or the Hermit Koco's Scroll will grant you eight Treasure Tokens each.

Further, there is actually something more valuable than Treasure Tokens that you can use at the Token Store. You'll be rewarded with these extremely valuable Gold Cards when you reel in a Treasure Box while fishing. Turn in the Treasure Box to Big the Cat, and he'll grant you this vital resource that you can exchange for expensive goods at the Token Store.
