Student Who Didn't Mute Gaming Headset During Teams Video Call Goes Viral

A hysterical video of a student forgetting to mute his microphone during a Teams call while playing Call Of Duty is a reminder of the weirdness of lockdown.

In the video, which has nearly a million views on TikTok, three bemused people on a Teams call react as a fourth person screams expletives loudly down the microphone, with the text: "Throw back to when I forgot to mute my mic while playing cod in lockdown."

The video, posted by Logan Jed, @loganjed, is captioned: "Most embarrassing moment of my life."

One man repeatedly says "Logan" trying to get him to realize his mistake before giving up and apparently muting him, saying, "Sorry about that guys."

Lockdown Weirdness

For many of us, lockdown days feel firmly behind us and the craziness of that time, with its restrictions and life adaptations, a distant memory. There are, however, some things worth remembering from that difficult period, namely the hilarious attempts that people around the world made to try to adapt to the online way of life. Here are some of the best.

I Am Not A Cat

Starting out strong is the moment lawyer Rod Ponton showed up to a virtual court in Texas with a kitten filter on in February 2021.

"Mr Ponton, I believe you have a filter turned on in the video settings," Judge Gibbs Bauer points out as the kitten looks nervously around.

"I don't know how to remove it. I've got my assistant here, she's trying to but, er, I'm prepared to go forward with it", said Ponton, before uttering the immortal words, "I'm here live, I'm not a cat."

Potato Boss

In a similar vein, Rachel Clegg Tweeted a screen shot of her boss after she accidentally turned herself into a potato on a Teams call and couldn't change back.

"My boss turned herself into a potato on our Microsoft Teams meeting and can't figure out how to turn the setting off, so she was just stuck like this the entire meeting" she Tweeted back in March 2020.

In a follow up Tweet she revealed: "The good news is that my boss, Lizet Ocampo, will not be sacking me tomorrow. We hashed it all out tonight and our team is still laughing with you all. STAY PLANTED AT HOME & welcome my potato boss @mlizetocampo to the twitterverse @billieeilish."

You Have No Authority Here

Did we save the best until last? Back in February 2021 the whole world got a glimpse into the world of local English politics when a volatile meeting of Handforth Town Council went viral. The footage shows a tense meeting where several councilors can be seen insulting each other before parish chair Brian Tolver accuses meeting facilitator Jackie Weaver of having "no authority." She subsequently removes him from the call, along with two others for their unacceptable behavior.
