Golden Retriever's Reaction to 'Tortured Poets Department' Goes Viral

Taylor Swift's appeal transcends species, because it seems even adorable dogs love the singer.

Beau, a New Jersey-based golden retriever was grooving along to Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) when one lyric caught his attention.

His mom filmed him rocking along to the song with the same name as the album when Swift sang the lines: "I scratch your head, you fall asleep/Like a tattooed golden retriever."

When Beau heard Swift singing about head scratches he turns to look towards the source of the music.

The video of his reaction was posted to his official Instagram, with the caption: "Does this make me famous now? Mom is low key jealous.😂"

It went viral with more than 154,000 views, and people in the comments saying they had similar reactions.

"My mom freaked when I heard this part too!! 😂❤️❤️," replied the dog account, GoldenBrudders.

Skylars the Limit replied: "Ha it's legit about us!! But what does it mean?!"

And Daisy the Goldie added: "I heard this part too and got excited 😂."

Beau's not the only handsome retriever to fall in love with Swift.

Finn, an English cream golden retriever, became entranced with Swift while his owner was watching her on TV. A video of him was posted to TikTok that showed his surprising reaction as he edged closer to the screen, fixated on her performance.

"Finn was captived. He's a swiftie," his owner declared in the comments.

Swift released TTPD on Friday and it quickly smashed global streaming records, including becoming Spotify's most streamed album in one day. TTPD got 300 million streams in a 24-hour period, Spotify revealed on its social media.

This broke the previous record, which Swift also held with her album Midnights. That got 185 million listens in a day.

Swift broke other Spotify records with the release of TTPD, including with the song "Fortnight," which features the rapper Post Malone. It set the record as the most-streamed song in a single day.

TTPD was also most pre-saved album on Countdown Pages, a Spotify feature that allows users to preview track lists before an album release.

Swift also got the most first-day streams of a pop album on Apple Music and also most-streamed album on its first day alone on Amazon Music.

While fans knew TTPD was due for release on Friday, Swift surprised them by making it a double album.

The second part of TTPD is called The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology and includes 15 extra songs. If you add this to the 16 tracks on the first part of TTPD, it brings the total number of songs to 31.
