Donald Trump Blames AI for Making Him 'Look Bad'

Former President Donald Trump thinks his opponents are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make him look "pathetic."

Trump took to his Truth Social platform to slam ads by the Lincoln Project, a political advocacy group made up of former Republican strategists whose aim is to "protect the American Republic from Donald Trump."

The Lincoln Project ran the ads on local Fox News channels on Monday night that showed several of Trump's well-known gaffes. The ad, titled "Feeble," is also available to watch on YouTube and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Some of the footage included two incidents from September, including Trump's inability to say the word "anonymous," and his claim he beat former President Barack Obama in an election.

Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, was very unimpressed with the ads and accused the Lincoln Project of using AI to doctor negative footage of him.

"The perverts and losers at the failed and once disbanded Lincoln Project, and others, are using A.I.(Artificial Intelligence) in their Fake television commercials in order to make me look as bad and pathetic as Crooked Joe Biden, not an easy thing to do," Trump wrote on Truth Social before telling Fox News it "shouldn't run these ads."

But the Lincoln Project hit back at the claims and its founder, Rick Wilson, denied it used AI.

"Listen, you shambling pantloaf, we didn't need AI to make you look like an impotent, drooling codger in steep cognitive decline.@ProjectLincoln just showed reality and you can't take it. Stay tuned for more. We know you can't look away," Wilson wrote on X above a screenshot of Trump's Truth Social post.

The Lincoln Project's creative director, Michelle Kinney, also hit back at Trump, including adding an emoji of a toilet to her post on X.

"Oh sweetheart, no AI was needed. You really are this feeble. Enjoy many more days of our ad on your TV this week. Night night. 🚽😘," Kinney posted.

The ad also suggested President Joe Biden, who is often questioned about his age and health, was a more hearty man than Trump.

"Face it Donald. You're just projecting when you call Joe Biden old. He's stronger than you, fitter than you, smarter than you, a better man and a better president. Anyone can see it," the ad says.

"And when you lay there at night alone. You know we're right. You're falling apart Donald. Breaking down. Right in front of our eyes."

Trump has likely used AI himself when in March he shared what was believed to be a fake image of himself kneeling down to pray.

The Hugging Face tool, which allows people to upload images to work out if they were AI created, determined with a 90 percent probability that Trump's image was AI-generated.

UPDATE: 12/3/2023, 6:52 a.m ET. This article was updated to reflect the ad appeared on local Fox News channels.
